Away Games this Season

by comeonthebiscuitmen » 08 Aug 2006 20:40

Are any games north of the Midlands going to sell out?
Are 3-4000 people really going to travel to Anfield and Goodison?

any thoughts?

Newcastle , Liverpool Man utd.

All sell outs surely, actually perhaps not Newcastle.

You'd probably get a ticket with an old elastic band and some belly button fluff. Why anyone would choose to go to Sheffield is beyond me

Newcastle almost certainly not because it's mid-week. I would have gone if it had be a weekend game, but a couple of days out of my meagre holiday cannot be justified.

Someone had to, although they could've chosen Boro or someone.

sell out liverpool, man utd, i think newcastle even tho mid week, maybe man city and everton, possibly boro!plus the last few away games may sell out if we have a close relegation/ european place battle?! towards the end of the season. the rest depends on when they are and if we on tv! if you dont have enough points ask around its surprising how many people knows someone who can get you a ticket in the home end!

They could have chosen someone a bit closer, it's like Wigan coming to the Mad Stad on a Wednesday night in January, they wou;dn't have brought many fans anyway the away attendance could be embarrasing.

Blackburn and Bolton last two away games, depends what the situation is, might have to beat both to secure our UEFA Cup spot!

i agree except i would be surprised i reckon we will only take 1000, maybe 1500 to Newcastle...i would love to go but driving looks a bit too much....not looked into flights...i work next to Heathrow so could be an option but depends on costs, flight times

wow just checked

heathrow to newcastle £22 return with BA, ah plus £43.80 tax/surcharge   - still damn good though and much cheaper than by car - assuming real cost of at least 20p/mile - (unless there are lots of you)

only prob is you have to get flight next day - can you sleep in the ground?

hopefully the game will be moved to a Friday or Sat :D

Flight times
LHR to Newc - Departs 17:30 Arrives 18:40
Newc to LHR Departs 06:30 Arrives 07:45

United might be one of the least "glamourous" league games this season, but matches at Bramall Lane are always classics in terms of action and atmosphere. Besides, realistically, it's likely to be a six-pointer. I'll be going, defo.

(And, of course, we always seems to get the result at Bramall Lane. I don't think that I saw a more satisfying goal - not having been at Leicester - than the equaliser there last season. The Blades went silent.)
