Will there be a minutes silence before the Macnhester City game does anybody think as a mark of the 5 year anniversary of 9/11?

More like the five year anniversary of us beating West Ham in the League Cup on Penalties

Let's hope we knock a few thunderbolts through Man City's twin towers on the day.

Good. I might actually make it to kick off, for once, if they delay the game long enough. Could somebody request a fifteen-minute silence?...

An early goal for City should ensure this, at least from the majority of the ground

I fooking hope not, football is not the place to enforce minute's silences for something like this IMHO. I don't remember one last year, why should five make any difference?

Is it so much to have a minute silence to pay respect to the familys who lost people i think a minute is no problem and we should do but i agree with the fact that 5 years shouldnt make a differance and that it all depends on what has happend in past years.

Don't personally have a problem with a minute silence, it is only a minute I would otherwise spend staring at the floodlights or picking my nose.

I think a minute's silence has no place at a football match, other than for mourning club dignitaries, players or supporters.

I can't remember if we had a minuted silence before the West Ham match on 11/09/01..... If we did then it was fitting that we did.

There's no reason to have a minutes silence at the Man City game, We all know what happened on 11/09/01 and we will all no doubt have it in our thoughts during the day.

However, If our USA Internationals feel strongly in favour of a minutes silence then I have no problem with it.

I don't think that there was a minutes silence at the WH game as I recall as I thought that we would have one

Surely we don't want to give our fans an excuse to be silent?!

We have shown our solidarity to America. I don't want to sound calous, but it wasn't our disaster. British people died yes, but will we have a minutes silence in a a couple of years time for the tsunami? No we won't, so why should we have one now about the attacks on America 5 years ago.

They are welcome to. It's not our place.

It may be out of the club's hand. FA may request all clubs do it, although both ourselves and Man City have 2 American players each so if they feel strong enough about it.

We played on the very same night 9/11 happened 5 years ago, we did a minutes silence then, and would think they will do again.

Minute silences are so over-used now that they've lost their impact.
