He says he is joking about "this side of Christmas" but I think free agents can still sign (and play straight away) after the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.

The window only relates to transferring registrations between clubs. If a player is a free agent when the window closes then they can be registered (and play) any time.

Pretty sure it was Mo Besic I saw earlier but maybe not as he must have another club by now. It was mostly probably someone who works at the club, lol.

Still a free agent by the looks of it. But I believe he is working in the megastore at the moment as well.

After the announcement today regarding the ticket office being understaffed I think he needs a transfer to there. Could make a real impact.

When you look at it this way it kind of makes sense meaning there is 2 players for each position I was a bit shocked when midfielders were being named but it does kind of makes sense I would prefer a natural LB though.

Halilovic can play RAM

I keep thinking that this is what Pauno will say to players we're trying to recruit. Don't think it works very well though.

Were it not for Joao's injury, I'd be saying that all we desperately need now is a new left back. As it is, we need a left back and striker. But still not miles off.

Well looks like we're up to five players now plus, it currently seems, another couple of loans could still arrive if deals can be worked out with their parent clubs:

  Permanent - Junior Hoilett (winger)

Supposedy about to sign today:

• Permanent - Scott Dann (centre back)

Possibly arriving before tomorrow's 11pm deadline:

• Loan - Danny Drinkwater (defensive midfielder) - Chelsea
  Loan - Andi Zeqiri (striker) - Brighton

If VP fails to get Reading reasonably comfortably away from the bottom 3 by xmas with that little lot then his time at the club should certainly be called.

so if we end up with 7 or 8 in, then tied with the comments from VP that it is possible someone will leave by tomorrow, how many do you think we'll lose?

I'd say 1, Laurent to head off to Forest or somewhere for 2m.
