It wouldn't be a Smith situation as no-one at the club has gone on record about signing him.

If it isn't announce in the next couple of days , then we can start to assume that it isn't happening for some reason (or never was).

If we get this done and Kelvin signed our team is pretty good for Lincoln, even if a couple more bodies in August would be welcome. By contrast, if we have neither there's lots to do in attacking areas. Feels like a big few days.

Yep he has been training with the team and has been for a couple of weeks now. We’re really not sure what the hold up is.
Don't all our signings still have to go through additional scrutiny from the EFL? As this one is the only one with a transfer fee involved, I'd imagine any scrutiny would be doubly so.

None of our signings have been particularly quick so far.
But as Gus has asserted we’ve actually swapped him for a bit of the sell on for Bindon so no cash involved. Unless Gus is not to be trusted.

Gus is to be trusted, just not with the mushrooms.

Gus couldn't find his own arse with a map and both hands. All he's interested in is lame jokes and post farming.

An insider whom I shall refer to going forward as "the man in the sand" has informed me he moved the goalposts late in the day and asked for an increase in salary, from what we thought we have previously agreed with the player (circa 450k per annum + bonuses) to (650k per annum + bonuses) as his agent claims he has strong interest from the championship and is confident of getting that kind of money.

Brogue, can you check with your source to corroboarate this please?

I know you're not supposed to but I do find the "ITKs" on Twitter quite amusing:

ITK 1: Bowler done. Signing to be announced later today
ITK 2: Bowler deal has collapsed, wanted more money
ITK 3: Bowler still in discussions with the club

Evidently one of them is going to be right - which one do you believe and who is going to be able to brag about being correct while the others never mention it ever again?

I'm sick of it all tbh. I keep an eye out for potential names we might sign out of interest and otherwise don't trust anything except the official club announcement.

It's all just such desperate toddler attention seeking otherwise.

Fits in with the club saying some arse asked for more money after hand-shaking on a deal. Good thing is that it appears the club has been bought by the American John Madejski as SJM would have also told the player and his entourage to do one after reneging in such away.

It’s nice to be back where we started 35 years ago.

Let’s just consider this one a no ball.

Agree - quite happy with this approach. We don't want these type of players at the club. Happy to live within our means and lose signings if they want too much.

I suppose the problem is that you said it was a done deal but now seems to have moved further away. Appreciate that this problem often happens with player deals.

Yep, also very much in camp 'do one' for any player verbally agreeing a deal and then asking for more money.

From my point of view I appreciate you sharing what you know on here and wouldn't want you to stop (if it helps, my post above was specific to Twitter ITKs who amuse not annoy me)

I think everyone understands that until the contract is signed anything can change and what you report is a snapshot in time

In Brogue we trust

He said it was done over the weekend and it hasn't been announced. If you want to be "ITK" you have to live with skepticism and criticism when you disclose information and nothing happens.

Ah keep posting, keeps things entertaining - if deals happen great, if their made up, fine. It's in the internet, no-one should take it too seriously.

For example, someone on Twatter has just posted that they drove passed Bearwood and could see photos being taken of a young white man - could be Bowler, could be the Candian guy, could be (and likely is) completely bollocks but its entertaining enough if you don't take it seriously.

100% keep up the rumours Brogue.

You’ve a decent success rate and I enjoy the speculation.

Yeah, definitely keep it going. Good to know who we're targeting, even if they don't work out.

If Bowler can get another £200k a year in the Champ, then good luck to him.

Nah, keep doing your thing! You're nearly always bang on the money. You're the only/most ITK person on here.

Its actually interesting to know how active the club is compared to how many deals we actually get across the line. Before, I had no idea it was common for deals to get so close without completing.
