Sounds like Gomes is keen to offload Baldock still, which is prob fair enough

What's left on Loader's contract, another 18 months? If we can get something like 2m up front + add-on payments at development stages + 25% sell-on fee then the club would be better off allowing him to develop under Jose's mate at Wolves.

Yep, his natural position is CF bust he doesn't have the strength of the know-how to play there yet
Really wouldn’t see him as a centre forward, although that depends what you mean. He’s not a classic, line leading number 9. He’s most effective playing deeper, not on the shoulder of the defender. Even he starts a game as the leading striker his instinct is to drop deeper and look to run at defenders. Ihink he’d work best playing off a bigger striker, his game would really work if he was feeding off knock downs and arriving late in the box.
No way is he a deeper player. Just no way.
He's been played there out if necessity.
Have you ever watched the U23s ?

would dent the up front payment then.. I'd still let him go for a lump up front and a gamble on a future sell-on payment

Sauce?
BBC Berks post match interview on Saturday.
Just listened to it. He doesn't say that. At all.
While answering the question of why Moore played on the right he says "Moore played there pre season (blah blah attacking) with McIntyre. Who was injured. He only came back today"
That's not "McIntyre would have started"

I'm always loathed to lose good talent, but he has a year left on his contract and Olise looks a more exciting prospect at the moment. If we can squeeze £5m out of him, not ridiculous in today's market, I'd be tempted to accept.
If he's down to a year, means either we haven't offered or he hasn't signed a new deal. Would be loathe to but if the Wolves offer is decent, I would take it. Imagine we are looking at no more than 2-3m due to contract length.

Depends who else wants him really, could push the price up
Young English forwards have a big premium
Tbh if it’s 2-3m it’s worth keeping hold and letting it go to a tribunal. I’d want 5 minimum

It's all potential with loader and ice not seen owt to make me think he's ready to play first team footy. Happy to see him go tbh.
Contract issue makes it a no brainer for us, prem interest makes it a no brainer for him

If it went to a tribunal next summer, we'd get less than £2m and if he did well this season and there was interest from the Premiership, there'd be zero incentive for him to sign a new contract.
If we got a £2m+ offer now I'd take it as long as we loaded it with sell on and performance related clauses.

Agree, and that's been suggested in the past, but it met with 'that would destroy him, he'd get kicked around', etc.
Would help though if Loader actually got to play up front rather than midfield or fitting in as a “fluid” attacker.
In our set up, I sincerely doubt it as he's never going to lead a line and hold up play.
He's simply not a traditional no.9

I'd love to see loader stay and develop as a striker here but can only be a good thing for the academy of they are getting chances in the first team and quickly moving to top 8 clubs.
Got a feeling baldock will go today, maybe to Charlton.
With novakovich leaving over the next couple of weeks and Watson/howe, holsgrove/east and frost going on loan to league 1 or 2 for the season

Gones doesn't seem to indicate in his latest interveiw that the club are considering letting him go.

Any indications what a tribunal fee for Loader would be if he left at the end of the season? Some people have mentioned accepting £2-3m or so. Could we not get that at the end of the year? Especially if he has a good season.

I'm not sure we'd get much less at a tribunal tbh - but depends what he does this year
Id overlooked the fact that the div1 and 2 loan window is still open for the rest of the month - likely that Walker, possibly McCleary/Gunter and a load of U23s have still got a month to sort themselves out and find something elsewhere - so may well be not too much movement today

Looks like Gunter is off. Courtney reporting loan bids are in but we're pushing for a sale.
Would be surprised if anyone took him permanently now. Loan for the season and sign on a free next summer seems more likely

as long as the wages or proportion thereof are off the books, I'm happy
like him, but paying him 20k pkus a week to not play is daft

Barrow rumour has resurfaced on Twitter, and we may have accepted a bid. Some account I've never heard of who seems to guess a lot of shit, but he called Miazga before anyone else.
