Not sure how much he is paid at Nottingham Forest, say it was £12k a week and he has 1 year left on his deal.
We're offering him a 3 year contract but for only £7k a week. That means he's not much better off joining us (£500k of wage but only over 2 years working out at £4.5k a week). Can see some logic in why he might be holding out for a bit more money even if he does want to play.

He's on more than £12k a week. I've seen a number of different figures quoted and they're all between £20k and £30k a week, but he is at a Premier League team.
He's spent the last 3 seasons on loan at the arse end of the Championship so I'd suggest that's approaching his ceiling so £12k is probably a more realistic level of what he could possibly command.

If he's on that sort of money, he'd earn more from staying 1 year at Forest and then seeing who wants him next summer. Even with a 3 or 4 year contract, surely we'd be offering < £10k p/w?

I hope Brogue is right, but I can’t see Bowler signing for us. I fully expect him to end up in the Champ. I should imagine the absolute maximum we’d pay is £7k pw.

So allegedly Bowler is signing today, unless he doesn't.
In which case, it will be tomorrow, unless it isn't.
If that happens, Weds will likely be done but if it's not Thursday looks good but there may be a shortage of taxi's and no-one really wants to give him a lift to the training ground. They may pick him up on the way to Lincoln on Friday but only if he can get to the services in time.

Looking on the bright side, he hasn't signed anywhere else (yet)

Tom is about as unlikely as it gets as a new RWer.
He'd have defended a damnsight better against Pompey than Burns and O'Connor too. Before breaking again on 63 minutes

I reckon me and you would have defended better than those two did against Portsmouth
May not have lasted as long as 63 mins though

I'd had surgery the week before so would have been on the treatment table. Which wouldhave made me only marginallymore out of position

I'm hearing he is waiting because we are negotiating with his team on a nice chunky signing-on fee and increased wage offer after the Knibbs deal goes through.

On what precisely? On his phone waiting for him to say yes? On the table in front of the FL for approval? Or on the back of a flying pig?

Apparently, James Earnshaw is reporting that we are selling Sam Smith to Wrexham.
