If we can keep Marek which i hope we can we would have one of the best players in the league.

Sonko and fae could both prove major players for us next season. I wouldn't be writing either off yet.

from sky sports web site
Goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann believes that some of his Reading team-mates were not fully committed to keeping the club in the Premier League.
The Royals were relegated back to the Championship on Sunday after two years in the top flight and Hahnemann feels some of the players were not fully focused on securing survival as they were already looking at leaving the Madejski Stadium this summer.
"I think some people might not be as devastated as I am," he told Radio Berkshire. "It might be because of personal situations with some guys leaving.
"But you have to play well to leave and I don't know if a lot of guys did themselves any favours."

Quoted on Teletext as saying that some players aren't as upset as him at relegation due to their personal circumstances and hinting at unrest in the dressing room.
Maybe that explains Shorey's smug look when booed against Spurs.

Yes. He was pretty clear there are some players who are perhaps not too bothered. Disappointing and as he adds they may not have done themselves any favours finding a Premiership club for next season.

Shorey will get found out lets just hope that West Sham have not noticed his crap performances this year we could still get £5m plus for him if someone is stupid enough.

I laughed when reading BBC 606 where somebody asked "Who could we replace Shorey with?"
A few replies down somebody had written "Based on the last season, a traffic cone"
If we can get decent money for him I'll be very pleased. At the same time if people have realised how bad and lacking in commitment he has been this season and leave him, I will feel that there is a sense of justice. It would also be the wake up call he needs. That will never happen though.
Truth be told, if and when he returns to the Madejski Stadium as a West Ham player I will remember him for the 6 or 7 committed excellent seasons he had, not 1 bad one. I also won't forget the pride when I saw a Reading player in an England shirt. It's a shame that he'll have signed his Reading career off in such a disappointing way.

Shorey and Hunt. Both know they have tickets outta here this summer so of course they couldn't care much. Just a little pride damaged I'm sure.

In the mirror today it says West Sham willl make a £2.5m bid but they will have to sell other players first to reduce their wage bill.

According to this mornings papers Shorey off to Newcastle 2.5m and Lita to Blackburn.
The papers are having a field day at the moment, even i have been linked with a move this morning to Ruscombe.

I hope that two things happen:
1. SSC stays.
2. We build a new team around Marek.
Who knows if either of them will be with us come August

There will always be some departures when a club get relegated, we are all aware that Shorey will go, we have had our pound of flesh from him so good luck to you son and thanks what you have done for Reading, as well there is the likelyhood that Lita, Hunt and Doyle will move on, I think the only thing that will stop this is if interested clubs offer insulting bids, they should remember we dont need the money !! hopefully when the dust has settled and SSC has confirmed his position we will re-inforce the squad, but we have to give the younger lads a chance, there is no point in having a highly rated Acedemy if none of the lads are going to come through.

Agree with both of the above. To be fair Shorey was always going regardless of relegation. One of the upshots of relegation is that hopefully a couple of youngsters will genuinely be in contention for the first team. A shame that Simon Cox didn't hang around for a bit as i think he'd have been very useful in the Championship and would get far more opportunities.
Also would love to see a team built around Marek, however i believe we may have to veer away from Coppell's favoured 4-4-2 for it to happen, either that or he'll need a different midfield partner to Harper as I'm not convinced it will be a strong enough presence for this Division.

So Nick Shorey has been unhappy for a long time.
Q: Why was he unhappy?
A: Because he's been unsettled.
Who can we blame for this: Wet Sham. Again.
