Sessegnon about to go for 25 million in last year of contract. Higher profile so higher fee but to drop down to 5m? That's a lot.
a whole nother level(or two) of proven player at the time though

No real issue with flogging him, surprised a club like Wolves want him tbh. Cam see them buying him then loaning him immediately so they can keep a close eye on him in a competitive environment.

Let's hope we're all complaining about another one the club let get away in a couple of years time.

I'd love him to make it here, but a sale would make me a lot more comfortable with our recent spending and Danny is one of the players we could get decent money for and most easily do without. He's hardly made himself central to the team, despite his quality and potential.

Gourlay threw out big contracts like confetti but couldn't get one of our brightest prospects tied down. We've made the right decision in the circumstances, but still disappointing.

yeah its fair enough to sell. Add a sell on fee as well, good luck to him

Loader's a reasonable player atm but nothing more, doesn't offer a consistent threat. He's too good for the U23s now but isn't good enough to justify first team selection. Olise doesn't have his scoring record but looks much more at home on the pitch. Said in the previous thread that we should be looking to sell in order to fund improvements. (Interesting how much people have changed their tunes based on a single bad performance since then)

Hopefully this helps with FFP, gives Olise more game time, and we get 30% of £50m in three years. Wolves is surely a good place for him to develop.

You genuinely think theres a 20m gap between the 2?

How did our last striker who moved to Wolves do?

He'll to need to really push on at Wolves to crack their lineup. Very competitive squad/team there, and in Europe now.

Oh well. Hope his agent hasn't been taking advantage, filling his head with grandiose ideas and this is a good move for him.

He’ll be loaned out the same as he would have been had he of stayed here with us.

Reading have played their part in Loaders development and will get their £ reward. We hand him over to Wolves who are in a more advanced position than us. Our plan is to become like Wolves. Loader is helping us to achieve this in the medium term.

They won't, not for years.

WestYorksRoyal wrote:I can't see this working out well for Loader or Wolves. It's Tish to Villa mk.2, except Tish had proven himself more.

However, if his agent is advising him and he's set all we can do is hold out for a good fee involving guaranteed cash. Not structured in extras and sell-ons; he will spend several years getting loans then be sold back to the Championship.
+1...I know he still young but he looks woefully out of his depth in the championship. I don’t believe you will ever see Loader wear a Wolves shirt in a Premier league game.

Yep, may be right. Just interested to see what position he will play, how he's used, whether we missed a trick, etc.

Far less bothered about him going than I was at the end of last season. Really disappointing display against Wednesday. He clearly has talent but I’m not exactly sure where he can best utilise it and develop. Good luck to him in the future.
