The last time we were promoted in 2011-2012 we had a manager born of Irish parents and only became strong enough to win the title/gain promotion thanks to the investment of cash by the Russian majority share owner.

The 106 squad did not have a majority of English/British players. even if you add the Irish players into that bracket it still isn't a majority.

What is the British Isles?

"The British Isles is a geographical term which includes two large islands, Great Britain and Ireland, and 5,000 small islands, most notably the Isle of Man which has its own parliament and laws".

Brian Mc Dermott was born in Slough Berkshire England The British Isles.

So who are the missing 11? Baradji and Eric Chuckwynelu are the 2 obvious ones I know of that weren’t British/Irish but then that’s countered by Dobson and Halls

Unless I am mistaken, we fielded 6 British players against Charlton with a further 4 British player on the bench.... Majority British.... not that I think it makes a blind bit of difference where a player comes from!

I think its time you accepted that the game has changed... I haven't looked, but I would imagine the club you are lusting after does exist further down the leagues.

Halls is already listed. Note Jamie Young above is Australian, not English.

Going from Wikipedia, the following players are missing:

14 - Simieon howell - Jamaica - out on season loan
18 - Darren Campbell - Scotland (mostly out on loan)
18 - Michael dobson - england (loan in)
20 - Jonny Hayes - Ireland (reserve team)
22 - Peter Castle - England - mostly out on loan
25 - Johnny Mullins - England (reserve team)
26 - curtis Osano - Kenya (reserve team)
27 - Aaron Brown - England (only there for 5 weeks)
27 - Ryan Catney - NI - out on season loan
29 - Chukwunyelu - Nigeria
30 - Baradji - France
33 - Conor Sinnott - Ireland

Including these (and swapping Jamie Young to australian) I get

England - 14/35 - 40%
UK - 18/35 - 51.4%

So - yes, if you include all the players that were registered with the club, even if they weren't all there at the same time, or never played for the first team, you can scrape it over the 50% for UK players. Not England players though.

Facts - as did every other championship club back then. The game has moved on.

Yes but back then it was so much better because we didn’t have many of those horrible foreigners. I want my club to take back control.

Continuing on the theme of stupid racist logic...... You have to stop the Irish coming over here and having kids, like Brian Dermot's parents then you have more opportunists for the English players and managers like Brian Dermot

Who let Dim Tellor on here? Clearly we won't survive in the Championship with a Portuguese Manager and all his Portuguese coaches who know nothing about Championship Football, not to mention (well only every so often) the Chinese owners!
