I’d be a bit disappointed if LR has given up on Abrefa. I don’t think he’s been bad at all this year and been a bit harshly treated.
Dorsett I also think has been pretty good but agree he is more a CB and happy if he stays as cover.
Also hope Garcia stays at the club longer term.

Any guesses at all anyone?
Would love for us to be ambitious and go for some good young players. Barry Cotter on loan at Notts County from Barnsley would fit the bill for RB and Adam Mayor on loan from Milwall at Cambridge as LB would be my choices. Both have pace, can defend, can cross and more like Reading old school signings. More likely we will buy 2 over 35 year olds but it’s good to dream.

Yeah sure, we might as well go the whole hog and have an entire squad's worth of people who can play full back. We're currently desperately short now Jacob has gone with only:
Yiadom
Dorsett
Abrefa
Ahmed
Garcia
Rinomhota
R Williams
Ritchie
Ryan
J Clarke
Rushesha
Beacroft
Osho
We're still missing the ability to name the other 5 subs

Well people seem to be linking Jack Hunt leaving Stockport as a sign he's coming here - so there's 1 35 year old, if true.

It's not Jack Hunt.

Nyambe 28 years old derby defender

Played for Richardson at Wigan. Has had a lot of injuries in the last few years.
On 27 February 2024, Nyambe would pick up a quadriceps injury in a match against Charlton Athletic, in March it was confirmed that he had surgery on this injury and would be ruled out for remainder of the 2023–24 season, Nyambe made 21 appearances for Derby during the season.[23] At the end of the season, Derby secured automatic promotion to the Championship with a second-place finish in League One.[24]
On 4 July 2024, it was announced the Nyambe had signed a new three-year contract at Derby, extending his stay at Pride Park until June 2027.[25] After playing in eleven of Derby's first twelve matches of the 2024–25 season, Nyambe would pick up a posterior cruciate ligament injury in Derby's match against Millwall on 19 October 2024 which would leave him on the sidelines for up to six months, Derby head coach Paul Warne said Nyambe was "heartbroken" by the injury.[26] He returned from injury ahead of schedule in January 2025.[27] On 2 April 2025. Nyambe broke the record for the most Championship appearances by an outfield player without ever scoring a goal during Derby's match against Preston North End on 2 April 2025 at 202 appearances.[28] In the game, Nyambe would sustain a hamstring injury in the fourth minute of the match and was forced to leave the field, the injury ended Nyambe's season a month early with the defender making 19 appearances during his second season at Derby.[27]
In June 2025, it was confirmed by Derby head coach John Eustace that Nyambe would miss the start of the 2025–26 season as he continued his recovery from his hamstring injury

Primarily a right back but can play centre back and as a left back, so is a younger Andy Yiadom.
Previously played for Blackburn and Wigan.
Namibian international.
Has suffered quadriceps, posterior cruciate and hamstring injuries since joining Derby in 2023.
Holds the current Championship record for most appearances (202) by an outfield player without scoring.
Rather have Ryan Reynolds

Looks prob about as good as we can expect in our current situation
Good experience at champ level but injury prone last few years. Sure will do ok if 100% fit

That chap from the Chronicle who only yesterday dismissed Brogue’s post is trying to claim the glory for knowing about Nyambe.

Derby fans are saying very good defensively, but doesn’t go past the halfway line.

Is Abrefa injured? Yiadom starting, Ahmed on the bench, this guy coming in. If he's not injured, would suggest he's not rated and his career with us is coming to an end.
LB definitely bigger priority.

Abrefa played 90 minutes in the U21 game on Monday night, so if he has been injured he's on his way back.

Thought there was some previous mention of him being injured at Peterborough.

Nyambe is also contracted at Derby until summer 2027 so there would need to be some discussion between the clubs over whether a fee needs to be paid.

His behaviour on X is ridiculous. Assume you saw his lengthy 'victim' post yesterday?

His reply to Brogue "I don't leak". Erm, that's your job mate.

He quickly deleted it. And as I replied, if he knew this was happening why did he call me out as a liar when I said we were about to sign him. He’s full of shit and I will publicly shame him. Shame, shame
