Slightly off topic, but can anyone recall who the player was that Lita tripped over by bending down to tie his boot laces?

The Arsenal keeper, Jens Leheman? I think.

Wasn't it S Hunt though, not Lita at all?

Not when he's off on a free transfer in the summer we wont.

500k is superb business.
If you reckon 500k is good business for a player who cost us more than a million then I'm glad I'm not in business with you.

We'd have to sell him for nigh on £3m to break even.

All this talk about profit in transfers is ridiculous.
I think its generally ridiculous anyway. You bring in a player to do a job in the squad. If he does it YES if he doesn't NO, and then you try to minimise the impact of that failure.

Lita, for whatever reason, is not doing a job for us, so we should have his replacement ready to come in ASAP. We have two frontline strikers and then Long and then Mooney. Being one injury from starting Long does not make for a strong squad.

No, it definitely was Lita. Leheman had a bit of banter with Hunt, that was all.

Why do we need a replacement player to send out on loan? Surely we have enough players to generate a loan from within the current squad?

(if that is too confusing, my point is that it hardly essential to replace a player who isn't even really part of the regular squad.)
You make a valid point, but we're left with Long off the bench, and that's worrying. Then there's Mooney, who isn't making much of an impression apparently. Not yet anyway. Give him time of course.

I'd like to see another striker arrive in January.

£500k for a player who appears to have no future at the club, is out of contract in 6 months and blows extremely hot and cold is good business IMO. It's not like anyone has even offered us a mars bar and a bag of balls for him in the last two windows.

He isn't proven at prem or chump level. He's shown he has the talent, but possibily not the mentality or application. Has he scored much for Norwich after his opening couple of games for them?

A replacement is also essential, because we only have two strikers good enough to start at this level, with Long always failing to establish himself and Church and Mooney seemingly a way off yet.

I would be delighted if thi were true, and I'd wish Lita luck in his new club. he has the talent, he just needs to use it. That obviously isn't going to happen here.

With 6 months left before he leaves this club for FREE, it's good business.

£500k = 3 Dave Kitsons, 5 Kevin Doyles, 0.83 Noel Hunts, 0.76 Nicky Forsters or an infinite number of Little and Longs

See you Leroy, enjoy the turkeys and carrots

That's not a replacement for Lita though, that's the need for a new striker to add to the ones we currently have that the manager wants in the squad.

As for it being good business, it doesn't matter how much we paid for him, it's what he's worth now that matters. I'd say £500k would be about right.

If Norwich or anyone else offers at least 500K I think we will take it.

The best possibility for us is if a few clubs desperate for goals decide that Lita would be an option and then we may be able to get considerably more. He has after all scored 6 in 12 at Norwich which is a fair return at a struggling team.

If no one offers 500K then I suspect we will retain him in case of serious injuries and then release him at the end of the season.

I'd rather take a small amount of money for him in January than him go for nothing in the summer.
Would be a good bit of business to sell him any higher than 500k and espeshly as high as £1mill.

He's a body in the squad who isn't currently performing in the role he should him out and a new striker in would be a replacement. The fact we need a new striker whether he leaves or not just shows how little use to us he actually is.

Is Mooney really way off, or just behind Long in the pecking order? I thought when we bought him it was seen as one striker too many. Now if Lita goes we desperately need a replacement?

Lita was offered to loads of clubs last summer, but they laughed when we wanted £2m for him. Now a player who we don't see as a first team starter and a bad influence, i'm more than sure we will take 500k for him
