Griffiths hasn't had a bad game tonight so far for Daggers.

Adopting my RTG (Reading's Typical Guff) view of the club's statements, then I reckon we'll get an unknown Premiership loanee - possibly even 6 months worth, i.e. no transfer cash need be spent.

Interestingly there was an interview on BBC Berks last night with Nicky Hammond. In that he kind of said that Coppell was happy to play either of the above at left back but that they're working behind the scenes to give him further alternatives. The way he said it was as if they were having to work hard to convince Coppell that there was a left back out there good enough and available.

If it is Scott Griffiths there surely shouldn't be anything stopping us wrapping up a deal pretty sharpish (and he wouldn't have played last night). Which leads me to believe it isn't.

As a defender he looked out of his depth at right midfield. He played at left back for Fulham and supposedly did a good job.

Coppell won't care about him being cup tied for the Carling cup, he may of wanted to see how he played against a better opposition.

Hammond mentioned Rosenoir by name as one of the alternatives that Coppell would be happy with. How happy I've no idea, but the way Hammond said it was as if Coppell would be fine playing him there.

Rosenoir did do ok for Fulham there, so that's possibly not the biggest worry. The worry would be who'd be playing right back whilst Murty is injured and who'd be providing competition to both players.

So is it fair to say the general consensus then is that there are probably some half hearted moves going on in the background but they are getting their excuses in early for if/when it doesn't happen ?

Um, did we actually get Mensah and Brown?

Anyone can put a huge bid in and look ambitious. We weren't able to bring said players here when one (Mensah) clearly was desperate to come over.

Making a bid is easy, anyone can do it, even you.

For the umpteenth time Mensah was keen but Rennes would not sell because they'd only bought him a few months before. All bids were dismissed out of hand at the time.

we had bids accepted out of those too, not just made-

the post made a comment about us only making half hearted bids with not much ambition to see them through.

i used those bids made above to demonstrate that we clearly werent that halfhearted at all.
