Take that all day long.
He's looked tidy but never a game changer. Got less effective the deeper we've gone into the season.

Snap their hand off for that. Even if the second £1m is contingent upon senior appearances etc.,

this is exactly how the academy should work. sell a decent prospect each season for good money with sell on clauses. the academy pays for it's self and keeps us as a viable business and keeps us in business.

Computer says "YES"; in our current situation, that would be a very good piece of business, because as good as he is, he is only 17 and all it would take is for an injury, or a sudden loss of form and very quickly he will be featuring in the "former players" thread as being out on loan to Bristol Rovers..............

If Saints return with £2.5m offer with a 20% sell on clause then we'd be crazy to turn that down.

It really was a bizarre flounce... leaving because our far right and resident nutcase weirdos started actually getting moderated, with a parting shot telling us all something we knew was a possibility and most of us weren't worried about, as if it was breaking news devastating certainty, and then turning out wrong.
Well done Vic, enjoy retirement.

I predict after recent games that he will be staying put for a little while. Which will do him the world of good. Get his mind back in the game after having it turned by the bright lights. He's only young, he's got plenty time left to develop!

Seen him being linked with Norwich

we turned down a 2.5 million pound bid for him in January from Southampton. so if Norwich are now interested its going to need to be more than that

Not if Garcia’s contract is now in its last year it won’t be

he was technically in its last year in January just gone. we had an option on it, which we took up in May.

£2.5m would be a very good fee!
£2m and we should sell. Cash to reinvest in the squad

Played RW against Gillingham whilst Dorsett and Ryan played LB. Clarke and Jacobs didn't get on the pitch.
Can’t see us seriously using Garcia as a winger, particularly RW, and KelvinE is reportedly staying.
So he does seem a valuable surplus to requirements.
Probably third choice LB with two more competent young players behind him. Not really up to it as a winger.
It's a bit of a no brainer to sell fo4 any sort of decent fee.

I disagree on Garcia as a winger, I think he’d do well there. I’m pleased he is out of the LB slot and I can see him being used further forward. He’s a year bigger and stronger
Wouldn’t be too disappointed if we lined up Garcia/ O Mahoney/Kelvin with Tuma/Okine Peters/Camara on the bench for first game of the season. Obvs need a couple more forwards before the window closes though

Thought I'd add a little to this -
John Ryan played well at left back, quite happy to get to the byline and put crosses in. He wasn't really tested defensively but what he did he did well, probably better than Dorsett and Garcia
The reason John Clarke didn't get on the pitch is that he's still recovering from his ACL operation and is hoping to be back by Christmas (Source: John Clarke at Bearwood. Smashing bloke)
I thought Garcia was either a LB or a winger? He seemed to be having a great time on Saturday down at Gillingham (as in enjoying himself, running around after the ball like the teenager that he is) and didn't do too badly. Was quite surprised by the switch from left to right though.
Whatever is happening with Kelvin E? Was reported by Noel and Kelvin himself that he was staying but nothing looks to have actually been signed or progressed in the last couple of days but why turn up at the Bearwood Day if you are off?

He just doesn't seem to know what to do. He got in some promising positions against Gillingham but then dithered and got tackled. It was the same all last season when he got forward. He lacks a trick or any sense of what to do.
I could see him as a midfielder. But not a forward or a defender.
There is no way he's a starter at this level at the moment.

Just as a follow up on Garcia the winger... he got 1 assist in 39 appearances as an attacking fullback last year.
0.2 shots per game, 0.3 key passes per game. It's not exactly signs of a winger in waiting.
Having him as second/third choice winger maybe.
