He quickly deleted it. And as I replied, if he knew this was happening why did he call me out as a liar when I said we were about to sign him. He’s full of shit and I will publicly shame him. Shame, shame

Come on man, leave him be. He’s new to it and fcuked up.

Gone down this route before, not going to get good experienced journalists doing that role
I reached out to the guy when he first announced himself offering help if he needed it. Was going to hook him up with some contacts.

Never heard back. Didn’t have any dealing with him up until yesterday when I posted we were about to sign a lb and rb and he called me a liar :| it was all lies.

He’s brought this on himself.

He then sends a massive post saying we aren’t signing anyone.
‘ There is a reason things are 'quiet' as there is nothing to report on in terms of transfers’
And then today we announce a player.

If he hadn’t been a dick and called me a liar then I wouldn’t be making him look a twat

Well yeah he’s made himself look a twat already pretty well

Maybe offer to help him again

To be fair, usually find Brogue/Huang annoying but when you're right, you're right.

Also find that Chronicle Ramy guy a bit useless and think the Twitter hate he gets is a bit justified, he's ended up looking a bit stupid this transfer window.

There was no need for the new Chronicle lad to go in so hard. Just saying "I can't confirm/haven't heard anything" was enough without calling Hunag/Brogue a liar
Now he looks stupid and has damaged his credibility.

He's new to the job (previously worked for the Brighton Argus????) so obviously won't have the contacts but in those circumstances, you keep your head down and work whatever sources are made available to you.

You're always going to have leads that come to nothing, it's part and parcel of the job but you don't antagonise someone who clearly does has a contact within the club, especially when they've previously offered help.

Not very intelligent and I'd be surprised if someone at the club hasn't taken note.

Probably taking more notice of who is leaking things to Brogue. Especially after those personal rants against Couhig.

If I was running the club, having a single leak that provides fairly reliable information wouldn't be an issue because it generates traction for the club on social media. That brogue is broadly antagonistic towards the owners wouldn't be an issue either because it adds a degree of authenticity.

I'm not suggesting brogue or his source is being played by the club but I can see a mutual benefit to information getting out this way and it means they don't have to deal directly with the local media. They will tolerate it as long as it isn't damaging.

Who actually uses the local media as their primary source of information anyway?

It's so obvious that Brogue's source is Joe Jacobson.

I think Brogue's source is the same as my son's as , over the past couple of years, their info has so often been identical.
So he has done well and way before the current lot came in.

Keep it going Brogue-the reason why I joined this site some 20 years or so ago was to see valid rumours but generally it has been a total let down on that front until Brogue started doing his stuff and long may it continue.

The last one that I was able to satisfactorily put up on here was via a friend of Adie Williams who was told that a big black bloke was due to sign from Brighton-it turned out to be Robert Codner , he of 4 games for us, and I have just checked, is 60 years old.!!

Have you considered that Brogue is your son?

I don't think Brogue has a contact in the club. I reckon he is "The spy from inside.........."

Funnily enough i was thinking the same thing :D Brogue pulled off an amazing piece of work with "Huang Kad" absolute genius and had pretty much all of us fooled. Who's to say he's not doing the same thing again! he's certainly clever enough.....whatever, please keep up the subterfuge i for one enjoy awaiting for updates from across the pond :D
