All credit to the Chinese owners. At least now all the spaculation about Moore leaving can stop.

Shame, really wanted rid. Poor business from the club.

That is a very strange statement to make. I sensed a bit of sourness in the tone. Hopefully it will be water under the bridge and the damage (if any) behind the scenes can be undone. Glad he is staying and can see him featuring in the match day squad soon - probably after Forest.

You know as well as I do that all players have a price. If Moore plays well til January and a PL team is desperate for a CB then we might well get 15M - that has to be better than 8M now. On the other hand is we are anywhere near top 6 (unlikely) they could well stand firm.

Either way I cannot fault the Chinese owners. And I don't blame Moore for wanting to better himself.

Quite unsure about how motivated he will be and how keen to perform. I'm sure he'll be giving it some effort, but if he's effectively being forced to stay (that's exactly what is happening), then will he really be 100% motivated and giving it his all?

Either way, I'm glad he is staying and I hope he has a decent season

In which part of his statement did you sense sourness?

Very much doubt that motivation will be an issue. If Moore wants to be a PL player he has to keep playing well to get noticed - or he has to do it with us.

The entire 2nd paragraph, where he feels he has to explain why he wanted to move. Also the timing of the statement is strange.

I think a key part of the statement is that he "privately requested" to leave the club. I just sensed from that that he wasn't happy the news was leaked and that it made him look more unprofessional than he actually was.

I think you're reading way too much into it and honestly haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Why wouldn't he explain the reason for the move... he has to doesn't he? Otherwise what is he going to say, "I'm staying, thanks everyone". No, he has to say "I am staying... however, just to explain what has been happening..."

Also, the timing is probably as it's the last day of the transfer window and negotiations or discussions are now over as it's too late to do anything. Over the past few weeks no doubt his agent, Brighton and Liam have been trying to get the club to release him. Probably every other day there's been talks or efforts to change the owners minds.

I like that he says "I look forward to the challenge ahead and earning a spot back on the team"

Good attitude

Exactly, it's not as if he has fallen out of love for the game. He will be fine

Wonder if we will still go for another defender on loan

I think if we can still get Hause on loan with an option to buy it would be a good idea, puts us in a better position in January / next summer should we have offers for Moore.

What else was he going to say? Like he actually wrote any of that shit.

He is a spoilt brat who wanted to leave the club 2 days before our first game. Disgrace.
