Poor sod, he's only been there a couple of weeks. He's played just one game - v Exeter, alongside Zac Jules in a back 5 - and came through all 90 minutes.

Well I suppose that's going to be one less risk to Reading when Rotherham are in town in November.

Yeah Carson was a strange one. I think he played on trial in the under 21s in the Championship relegation season, possibly even alongside Bindon, and got some good reviews.

I always thought he looked pretty useful when he did play and had a wand of a left peg but I guess you never know what is going on and what the reason is. Best of luck to him.

I also really feel for Holmes as his career has completely ground to a halt since leaving us. The injury sounds annoying as it's a few months out most likely, right when teams are starting to settle in to their preferred XIs for the season.

I maintain he would've been more effective as a left midfielder than as a left-back. Always seemed to be defensively lacking, but wasn't helped by him coming through when Selles was still playing the 4-2-2-2 and was often left two-one defensively.

Yeah, still remember him getting absolutely hammered at Northampton away. And then at Orient on the Saturday. Just got targeted, time and time again. Great left foot, less than great at defending, albeit with next to no help in front of him for those games.
