dont think you can wrap a left back in cotton wool really, if a striker pulls out of a tackle up front not too bad, but if a left back does it

Has Silvestre actually signed then?
Yup first Arse- Manure transfer since Viv Anderson
I thought it was since Brian Kidd?
Plus, as already stated, Gibbs mostly plays, and is most comfortable, as a winger.

Im not sure if this has been suggested in the 23 pages of replies, but has anyone considered Stephen Carr - I dont think he has a club since being released by Newcastle.
I know we dont like signing experienced players, but surely he has something to offer in the Championship.

No thanks. We don't need another rb. Although he is Irish, so it's a possibility.

I suspect that we have more Irishmen in our squad than London Irish do. Useless info - but fun all the same.

London Irish's captain Bob Casey has been called up to the Ireland Squad, Shane Geraghty was elligible but chose England. Nick Kennedy can play for either, Declan Danaher is the same, Dan Murphy as well.

As Traore has gone to Pompey - I think we can rule out Gibbs
So it is Surman or Armstrong then.....
Or does SSC have something else up his sleeve?

if you look at the Mooney youtube clip the left back does a storming overlap and cross for one of his goals, and on that evidence alone, we should sign him.

Chronic has just mentioned Craig Alcock of Yeovil as a possiblity.
Also, while Traore has moved, Silvestre has come in, so Gibbs could well still be available.

not sure if it will be gibbs because of traore's move maybe arsene will want to keep him.

No, he almost certainly won't. He's still third choice, and if both Silvestre and Clichy are injured, Gallas or Djourou could fill in there, or Traore can be recalled.
Plus, for about the fourth time, Gibbs is primarily a winger.

We like to play our players out of position

It's come to a pretty poor pass when we are now entering the last week of the window and we still don't have a proper left back.
Shorey left more than 2 weeks ago FFS!

Doesn't Convey play there for the US?
