Hob Nob Anyone?

Derby and Wigan are set to battle it out for Blackburn midfielder Robbie Savage (news of the world)

Now while he is probably the most hated man in football and most prob cant stand him, he surely would be excellent signing for the rest of the season to give some steel to our very flimsy center midfield. And surely we would be a more appealing prospect then those two clubs?

Tottenham trio Tom Huddlestone, Wayne Routledge and Anthony Gardner have been told to find new clubs (news of the world)

Huddlestone i no has been talked alot on here and would be a good signing, Routledge is a right midfielder and was when he first came up with palace a very good young player, havent seen him play recently but Coppell has a tendancy to get player playing well again after there careers stall.

Pretty much my feelings on the matter. It'd be nice to go for a more proven midfielder (not Savage) but I suspect our budget won't really allow that

I didn't bother reading anything more than "Robbie Savage".

Steven Hunt and Robbie Savage in the same team...... That would be interesting!

Considering Savage moved to Blackburn to be closer to his home in Wales even though it wasn't, so there is no chance of that happening unless he is really stupid, but would still take him if there was a chance just cos he's so good at breaking the game up and stopping the other team playing. I know he's a dipstick and likes being the villian, but there is no denying that he is good at what he does.

I would love Robbie Savage to play for us, he would add the grit and determination that we so lacked in our midfield at the beginning of the season. Yes everyone hates him, but, that isn't just because he's a c*nt, he's actually a good player as well!

I would love Savage to come here. He would give us some nastiness in midfield and stop our midfield being overrun. He would be able to provide some leadership in CM aswell.

As I've said a few times on here, I think Routledge would be a very good signing to bring some width and pace to our right side.

I think Huddlestone is a very good young player too, but I'm not sure he and Harper would be a good combination, but if either of them leave Spurs I'd hope that we'd be in for them.

Savage is still a good player, but well past his best though.

Savage of three years ago yes but not now he is in his twilight years.
I used to think Huddlestone and Routledge would be tremendous players but neither seem to have developed in recent seasons. I am not convinced by either of them now.

Like most young English players they both need to be playing and learning their trade to improve on the promise they showed a couple of years ago. Sidwell and David Bently have both shown how sometimes you need to take a step back to move forwards sometimes. A lot of young English players seem to believe their own hype and make the move to a big club when their just not ready to hold down a regular place.

I still think both a pretty good, although I do worry that Huddlestone is just never going to be mobile enough for the modern game, especially at Reading with the pace we play at when on the top of our game.

I think Savage would be a good short term signing but I hate myself for thinking it. Hasn't he spent the best part of the last 18 months injured though?

I'd have all three of the Tottenham guys.
