The juiciest bit of gossip I've heard so far this year.

I know there has been speculation about "reasons" for Halford's lack of performances and his sudden departure.

A contact at Sunderland has just suggested to me that the reason behind Roy Keane's fury in the manager's office after the match last month wasn't the last minute goal.

It was a lot more to do with us having sold him a player with a "problem" and not having mentioned that "problem".....

I doubt it, so I don't see why Keane should be angry at us for not telling him. It's his problem, not ours.

Unless he didn't have the problem or as big a problem on his salary at Colchester.

That said, Spacey's right. Its up to Keane to scout that.

Under Law, if I sold you a car that I knew had dodgy brakes that's fine - as long as you don't ask "Are the brakes ok?" Buyer beware and all that.....

But if you do ask and I say "They're fine" then you have legal redress...

Injuries - club pays for a medical
Psychological issues - well, the club should pay for a basic evaluation and research any issues.

Depends on whether or not you are a trader. As a private individual, you are probably correct, but as a trader, it is against the law to sell an unroadworthy vehicle

Sunderland would have done a drug screen as part of his routine medical

If it was negative he was clean therefore no problem.

If they didn't do it then it was "their bad" as it should be part of the due diligence process.

Who's to say that Roy Keane didn't drive him to seek solace in drugs with his skills as a manager?

I would have thought football clubs would do checks as part of the medical - a routing blood test would show up any issues.
