We are still able to sign unattached players!
Michael Ricketts?
Robert Malcolm?
John Hartson?
Noel Whelan?
Malcolm Christie?
maybe bring Neil Smith back?
Though I think they are British so I don't think McDermott would have heard of them.
Maybe Madejski can do some shady business and get some player to buy out the end of his contract and then sign him up, surely that would work!

If Hartson wasn't so fat he'd be alright in that Kevin Davies tank style centre forward. Might actually make us slightly effective when hoofing it aimlessly forward for 45mins like saturday.
