The Mirror says we are looking to sign Fulham midfielder Davis who is currently on loan at Rangers.

Not a bad shout...

Not mentioned on the "...from relegated clubs" thread due to his loan spell in Scotland.

He was mentioned on here last summer and would still be a decent prospect. However, he won't get ahead of Harper and M'jovsky and probably won't settle for our bench.

I think he’s exactly what we need. A ball winner, energy, young and got some premiership experience. The problem we have is imo we have 2 good cm’s that can’t tackle, we have to drop one of them for a ball winner. We have got good players but no balance.

MM & Davis would be better balance than MM & Harps. Yes?

He's the type of player that we should probably be looking at bringing in.

He's no world beater but he'll be more useful as a replacement for Sidwell than the likes of Fae and Cisse.

Player (or young player) of the season a few years ago at Villa IIRC. And from what i remember a decent energetic player who would fit well into our midfield.
The only thing is why did fulham let him go because they are hardly full of quality midfielders (with the exception of bullard) But is probably a more realistic target than bullard.

With our restricted wallet this is the sort of signing that I would say is top end of what we can attract and a good signing it would be too. Definetly an improvment on Fae and Cisse and real competition for Harper who IMO gets far to much stick!

My paper says Newcastle are favourites to sign him.
What would you do in his place?

The only players we need are :

A new CB.
Maybe a Winger,
A Striker
A Goalkeeper.
