He could be a very good replacement for Nicky Shorey. At least in the short-term anyway.

Bocanegra is absolutely abysmal on the wing. He's good a fouling people in the most inopportune time in the most dangerous position possible.

We were talking left back not wing MrYankee. We already got Convey and Hunt as wingers.

Good short term fix at LB. Someone who could do a fine job in the CCC while we wait another year to find out what Golbourne's got.

FWIW wikip says primarily a CB but used at LB and holding CM by Fulham, and CB by USA

Not seen him so cant comment, his record looks ok, international breaks could be a problem though.

Someone above wanted to replace Shorey with Bocanegra. That's a disaster. He's a CB only. That's why i said he's terrible on the wing. Watch in the friendly tomorrow. He gets beat with pace and most of his tackles are whistled. He'll give up at least one free kick in a very dangerous spot tomorrow.

Brian McBride is leaving Fulham despite wanting to stay.

McBride was offered a new one year deal which he turned down to move back to the States, so why would he move to the championship?

Annoying though last January, in our first season in the Prem, he signed a 1 year extension at Fulham.

We couldn't have done much worse than making a move on a 1 year basis for him then.
