According to the Daily Star we are interested in Colchester goalkeeper Dean Gerken. Rated at £550k.

I,m sure I've heard this one before - supposed to be a good young prospect.

Could leave Federici in a pickle if he comes in.

Coppell always likes to have 3 keepers for a first team squad. With Stack gone, I expect us to either bring in a new one or Hamer to step up, so this could have some legs.

I suppose at Colchester he had plenty of experience picking the ball out of the (pickled) onion bag.

i know we are after a keeper because Federici has been told he is in the olympic squad, so we need a back up keeper for the start of the season

Imagine Gherkin playing in the same team as Mark Fish, Gary Pickles and "Dill'an Kerr" perchance etc, etc?

I would be pleased if this one happened. Gerken is a good keeper and will obviously move onwards and upwards from Colchester.
Next season Federici to be loaned out somewhere for 1st team experience (after the olympics of course) and Gerken to cover / learn from / challenge Hahnemann.
Following season Hahnemann back to America and Gerken & Federici battling it out for the number one spot.

Is this a prelude to the oft-mooted Richard Branston takeover?

Can I pretend to be Spacey and pick you up on spelling thereby (as usual) totally miss the point?

Platypuss will relish the opportunity to whoosh you.

Despite pretending to miss the point, as usual BR misses the point. Again.

Gherken, Fish, Butters, Venison, Wes Brown (he looks like a wotsit or a baked bean) Finnan, Haddock, Bacon, Crisp, Duff, Currie, Rice, Lemmon, Brazil, Berger and Oates A culinary first team! a team that would take some licking...I'll get my coat!

Always rated the lad at Crewe Ben Williams, was on Man Utd's books as a teenager, he's on a free this summer as he wants to leave, only 25. With Hahnemann's future sort of decided I can't see us going for another keeper this summer, maybe next year.
