Speculation - Yemi Odubade

just been up at Cowley Junction getting my lunch at M&S food, overheard a couple of OUFC youngsters talking about Yemi Odubade possibly heading out as a trialist on our Sweden tour, not sure if anyone's heard this :?:

bolt out of the blue, probably would take his time to find his feet, but he's pretty quick and would be a useful bench/cup option for his first season. Is the Conference a greater step up than the Irish league though?

I too have heard this, text off my m8 who is an OUFC season ticket holder and knows a few of the coaching staff as he was in the academy there for a few years. Not sure what tot hink myself, seen him a few times and he's lightening quick but really inconsistant in front of goal.

I saw him play 45 minutes at Maidenhead on Saturday, OUFC won 3-1 and he was the best player on the park by a mile. He'd be an exceptional signing for this club. Maybe this trial was half in the pipeline, there was a scout I didnt recognise from the club (had club attire on) I assumed he was just looking at Maidenhead as we are playing them next week

That would be a shocker - he's fast, but that's about it. Definitely not Championship standard. Would be fun to hear the chant 'Run yemi run' in the MadStad though.

Jesus wept - if we give Odubade a trial then hopefully we will find him not guilty of being a footballer. If this is the calibre of player we can attract we might just as well give in now.

Saw him quite a lot on Setanta last year. Quick but not very good.

If it'll piss Oxford United fans off, sign him!

According to my mate ITK this is set to happen very soon, as AndyRFC said, Reading scouts were at the Maidenhead match to watch Maiders but they were really impressed with Odubade and COppell has invited him in for a trial. Absolutely stunned, he was on the transfer list at Oxford last season at one point, think it MAY have been attitude related but he is absolutely grease lightening, whether that's enough? I suppose Reading will find out over the next week or so.

According to my frrend who is a die hard Oxford supporter, it was common knowledge to them from January that he would be joining us in the summer.

So after Coppell saying hes happy with 3 strikers, we could acquire Mooney, Hunt and Odubade LOL, the championship must be shaking at the prospect of playing us.

I see Derby just signed a lad from Porto and Rob Hulse. The Derby who accumulated 11 points last year. Even Hulse turned us down for them. To be fair if we showed as much ambition as Derby this summer Kitson would probably of stayed.

agreed, coppell is crap in the transfer market and can't attract players! as soon as we get rid of him and bring in a lively goood motivational manager the better. The club is boring me to death at the moment and so is coppell.

Actually Coppell only really struggles with signings when he has money to play with. Same happened at Palace. Is well known at selhurst that when he says 7 figures he gets it wrong but on the cheap there's no one better. Don't think much of this lad from what i've seen however.

Did he? I really hope you haven't based that purely on a thread on here.

Ok what was based on here, either way im sure he would gone to a club heading for the right direction, rather than ourselves

He went to a club heading for the Premiership in case you missed that little fact ... Derby are heading for the Championship just like us. Move on.
