it's widely known in football that Hunt has a £5m release clause in his contract, which his agent would have been touting around. I have no doubt that Hunty will go before the end of the transfer window

I'm not into hyperbole but Hunt going would be a disaster...

Aye but dont forget IF Hunty did go as well it backs up all the words from the owner that we ARE an ambitious club, ambitious to sell and ambitious to fill his pockets.

"I don't know what will happen before the transfer window, it's up to clubs to sort it out if they are to come in and make a bid, as far as I am concerned I am a Reading player and I am preparing for the game against Palace tomorrow," he stated.

At least he is making the right sort of sounds.

Hope he stays though - would probably be the worst player out of all of them to lose.

Agree completely.

To be fair though a move to Everton would be a great one for Hunty so I wouldn't begrudge him it...

....brings back memories when we had fire sale of Hislop Osborne and Co after the Bolton defeat, and we all know what happened after that.... doldrums for years

Dangerous times for club I think

Cr@p.

If harper, doyle and sonko all go I won't care.

If Hunt goes I will.

Alas Harper won't be going - most frustrating!

A couple of months ago I would have welcomed this, but I have well and truly changed my mind about Stephen Hunt. His workrate and hunger is unparalleled and is vital for us if we're going to mount a promotion challenge this season, even his crossing, which was his main weakness, has improved no end. Gutted if this does actually happen.

If Convey had regained his form, then I would have had less of a problem about this, but as he hasn't then we could face the prospect of a team wothout any decent wingers.

If this happens, then it is another kick in the teeth for the fans. And if the club fails to bring anyone in, then the board should be ashamed of themselves.

This isn't good news at all. If he goes then we will anot have a decent enought winger to replace Hunt (sorry Convey doesn't cut it for me - too weak - too predicatable)

I really really really hope this doesn't go through. Hunt would be the biggest possible loss.

'greed. Only this time we do have a some reasonable youngsters to call upon.

I wonder how the new season ticket holders feel. Anyone a newbie? You must be pi$$ed.
