Speculation - Tommy Smith

Watford are in a bit of a financial pickle and they may not be able to say no to a £1m bid for Tommy Smith in January.
The sort of striker we could well go and get, rather than talk of Harewood (doesn't want to drop a division, on more than double the 10k we pay our top players) and the Boyd's.
I'd take him, although I'm sure what he could offer if we went up. At this level, yes please.

i would only want the club to bring in another striker if we were to lose someone up front in january
at the moment we have doyle, Nhunt, Long, Lita and Mooney to choose from. as well as church who may be given a chance at some point this season
if doyle went i would hope we would look to bring in a striker with more quality than smith
if lita or long went it would be a good signing to add depth and provide competition for doyle and Nhunt

Personally not a fan of Tommy Smith , think we need someone more in the Kitson mold.

I was always a fan of Kitson's awareness with his back to goal , not neccaserily shooting but passing it to the wings and setting up a crossing oppertunity.

Who would you suggest?
It's easy to rubbish players you don't think we should go for.
Who can we attract her on our wages and for around £1m tops, that will come here?!
Apart from another gamble, I don't see where a decent replacement for Doyle will come from, and he will need replacing, because we do not need to be left with Long and Mooney supporting N.Hunt. It'd f**k us.

Ross McCormack would be a much better signing.
HTH.

That'll be a proven goal scorer then, or a risk?

Make that decision for yourself.

A couple of Watford fans i know have told me that the rumours coming out of Vicarage Road, are that Reading have a pre-agreement to buy Tommy Smith in January. This, along with the treatment of Boothroyd, is the reason Elton John is leaving.
Possibly a replacement for a departing Lita?

Well I was just speculating, but he can play wide right too so maybe not such a bad signing if we went for him.
