Wouldn't be surprised, given his history but that's probably all the Mirror has got to go on anyway.

I am not expecting some big name and I would not be surprised if Mackay is named manager just for now whilst we look for some investment because its not the most attractive job at the moment by a long way.

There have be some names talked about like Kenny Jackett and a chap from Chelsea called Brendan Rodgers.

You wouldn't go far wrong with our Brendan. Well I say our, Chelsea lured him away but and they have been very impressed with him in his short time at the bridge. A manager in waiting most certainly. But if he'll get the time and support he'll need at Watford is another matter.

I think most of our fans would and understand that any new manager would have a very difficult job in our current situation to get results.

I think most of us are more worried who the board will decide to flog in January...
