would love to have surman at the mad stad. if shunt does go in jan he would be an ideal replacement on the left side of midfield

Assuming they're good enough for the Premier League, and of course two very big Premier League clubs.

Lallana gave Armstrong a torrid time when they came to the Mad Stad, Surman would be an excellent replacement for Hunt (if he goes) . Get 'em in Stevie.

Lallana is a poor man's Matejovsky. Don't waste money on him.
Wouldn't mind Surman though.

Lallana is promising. Agree that Surman would be a good signing though.

Lallana and Surman both impressed me when they played down here. Lallana is a very hard with worker with skill as is Surman.

Yer but lallana is still really young and has bags of potential. Would like to see both of them come in to help boost our chances of promotion. We need more options on the wings i feel s is still a long season ahead.

Word doing the rounds is Saints are closer than ever to entering administration.
Southampton players

As this area is about gossip I heard today (through an ex-board member there) that Saints are desperate to keep all of their players for next Tuesday's relegation game v Norwich but after that they will have to sell players.
The obvious two that we might be interested in are Surman and McGoldrick and whereas we have discussed Surman many times (I suggested him this time last season) IMHO McGoldrick would be a very useful addition as the different type of forward that we have been talking about.Bradley W-P is another possible.
We have a connection with the club through both Bennett and Pearce and have a number of players such as Henry,Karacan,Long and so on that could help them as loans for the remainder of the season ,something which might appeal to them.
Last summer we chose not to make use of the goodwill bought at Bournemouth( with the 4 loan players) to go for Sam Voakes but I hope that we might use the goodwill with Saints.
