Hob Nob Anyone?

According to The Sun (yes i know take with a pinch of salt!) - we have offered a coaching position to the recently sacked Southampton manager -

Wouldn't suprise me. Coppell was very complimentary about him before the Saints game.

And he made a special effort to shake his hand after both games this season.

Actually could make a lot of sense, knows the European game, will have good contacts, and probably speaks dutch.

Excellent coach, didn't quite work out for him as a manager but his coaching skills would be a good addition to the club.

Not sure we really need another coach but if bringing him in meant we would start to teach our lot how to pass the ball a bit more like Southampton did then it could only be a good thing

He's been a coach at the club before, I believe left shortly before taking the Soton job - so wouldn't at be surprising if he came back as he's highly rated here.

Another example of the weird thinking by Southampton board to sack him. He would be a huge asset on the coaching team, even if only for the short term.

If he can get us playing all the time like Saints managed for one game at The Madstad against us I'd be all for it!

I still see itchy fingers on the trigger from the Saints board. They need to take a hard look at themselves.

If Downes is the defensive coach and Dillon is.....Dillon then he could be the offensive coach.
This is association football not American football at our club,is it?

He could be our 4-5-1 coach. Teach us how to play it and how to play against it. Because much as I support our current coaching staff they're struggling a bit with this one I have to say !

Was my thought. I agree with RL in that up or not this season, Coppell has done his bit here and will depart. If that is the case, Madejski knows about that well in advance and will be looking at replacements nice and early, or you would hope so.

Not sure what JP taking the reins would do for me. But as long as it isn't Dillon or Wally...

I'd hardly think that was a controversy. Maybe sensible planning, but not a controversy.

A significant portion of HNA would dispute the sky was blue and grass is green if I suggested it was the case. That makes anything I say potentially controversial.
