Rumour has it Pompey want Coppell to be their new manager!

If I was Pompey I would want Coppell.

Graham Taylor was touting Coppell for the Chelsea job on Radio5 this morning.

He's not charismatic enough IMO. Plus I don't think the loud-mouth, egotistical players would fit in with Coppell's far more humble approach.

I don't think Coppell suits a team like Pompey.

I think Coppell is a good manager for clubs like Reading, Palace, Wolves, Sheffield United, Preston, Burnley, Wednesday etc. or Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool. Everything in between is not a suitable club for Coppell.

No way would he work at Chelsea. Possibly Liverpool, Possibly United, but only after a couple of managers had failed miserably to take up the reigns from Fergie.

Not sure he'd like it at Wolves either. Small clubs with good infrastructure and potential or big clubs who have been playing well below their potential for some time, like Wednesday, Forest, maybe QPR

Not really as i dont see Portsmouth as being any "bigger" than Wolves, Sheff Utd, Reading etc.....the fact they could be relegated this season says it all. "Everything in between" are teams like Spurs, Man City, Everton not little old Portsmouth.

Pompey can do one as far as i am concerned

while I don't want to see Coppell go, him to chelsea is an interesting one purely in the realms of fantasy, but it would be interesting to see sir Steve at a big club like that. If he could get rid of the egos and get the team harmony like he has here, added to the fact he could attract some of the worlds better players, i think it would be very inetesting. Just imagine.....Chelsea with integrity!!!
