Madejski admires Bullivant for the work he did keeping the side together with minimal funds and if he had more funding he'd have done wonders. The word is that now we're in a stronger position financially he's very keen on giving Bullivant another go.

We weren't exactly a 'extremely progressive and well run club' at that time. We were making huge losses at that time, but SJM was funding the deficit.

Bring it on! I think that it would a really progressive move. He was not given a proper chance and I have heard that Carl Asaba would love to come back to the club.

I have also heard that Paul Bodin will be #2. There is a condition to TB1's return though. He has asked for a more formal taxi rank to be built outside the stadium.

Bullivant was a Div 2 manager at best - he was rubbish and was only usurped by Tommy Burns imho.

What utter bollocks. Ian, if you're serious then that is your most laughable opinion. The side he inherited had just finished 18th iirc, but had the best home record bar Bolton who we beat at home despite playing half the game with Jimmy Quinn in goal. Unfortunately we had the worst away record as well, but Elm Park was a fortress for the majority of that year and it was testament to Quinn and Gooding that they kept us up on the back of that. To say Bullivant should never have left is laughable because he was taking us down at a rapid rate of knots. He signed some shit, and lots of it, and justified his purchases by playing them, and funnily enough we suffered a horrendous dip in form culminating ultimately in relegation. The likes of Gareth Davies, Jason Bowen, Andy Legg, Carl Asaba, Nick Colgan, Michael O'Neill etc just weren't up to the standard, and that shows by our league position. Maybe being a bit harsh on O'Neill because he was a wide player who Bullivant insisted on playing down the middle, but he still wasn't very good.
