Team news

Watson is expected to continue in the centre of midfield. Cureton and Forster and likely to be the pairing up front. Rougier and Harper will probably be on the bench. Meanwhile, Oldham can be expected to make a few changes after their dramatic 1-7 home defeat against Cardiff City last Saturday. The defeat seriously damaged their play-off bid. They'll need a win at the Madesjki to get back on track - something they won't be getting!

Reading - from: Whitehead, Hughes, Mackie, Williams, Shorey, Igoe, Parkinson, Watson, Harper, Salako, Henderson, Forster, Cureton, Rougier, Ashdown, Viveash.

Oldham from: Goram, Clegg, Balmer, Baudet, Armstrong, Appleby, Colusso, Carss, Murray, Eyres, Sheridan, Corazzin, Smart, Duxbury, Holden, Miskelly.

The Royals have had the upper hand over Oldham through history. In recent times Reading have had a decent record against Oldham - but one of the best wins was of course the 5-0 victory from last season.

2001/2002 Season:
Earlier this season Jamie Cureton scored the only goal that gave the Royals the full three points at Oldham.
23 October 2001: Oldham Athletic 0 Reading 1

2000/2001 Season:
Last season season Reading followed up a 4-0 home stuffing of Brentford with a 5-0 stuffing of Oldham at the Madejski Stadium with Sammy Igoe scoring two of the goals. Happy times indeed. This was followed with a 2-0 away victory later in the season at their place. Lets hope to repeat the 7-0 aggregate win this season too.

12 September 2000: Reading 5 Oldham Athletic 0

1999/2000 Season:
Three points away from home and a point at the Madejski meant that Reading got the better of Oldham during the 1999/2000 season:

25 September 1999: Reading 1 Oldham Athletic 1
