Rumours surrounding Blackpool player Tom Ince and a possible move to Reading continue after further transfer discussions between the two clubs. Yesterday it was confirmed that Reading put in a bid around the 7 million pound mark. That bid was swiftly rejected, but the Royals are considering increasing their offer to bring it closer to Blackpool's target price. With Liverpool and Reading both interested the Championship club are sticking to their 8 million pound price tag. Interestingly, Liverpool have a sell on clause after the player moved to Blackpool in the summer of 2011, so it is in their interest to drive Ince's price up. The clause could pocket Liverpool 35 percent of any transfer fee. It's entirely possible the sell on clause brings the player closer to their price range and Ince himself may well prefer a move back to Liverpool.

Ince, who had a brief loan spell at Notts County in 2010, has spent one and a half seasons with Blackpool after signing from Liverpool. He has already hit 15 goals this season - 13 of those by the 1st of December in a blistering start to the season. Swansea were also rumoured to be interested but now seem to have dropped out of the process, unless they're better at keeping their dealings quieter. Considering the huge sums of money being discussed, and Reading's history in the transfer market, is seems highly unlikely this transfer will go ahead. As it stands the most likely outcome is that the player will be staying put with Blackpool, but that could all change by the end of tomorrow when the transfer window closes.

Tom Ince's career to date:

  • Liverpool: 1 substitute appearance in League Cup
  • Notts County: 5 starts, 3 sub appearances, 2 goals
  • Blackpool: Signed in August 2011. 58 starts, 13 sub appearances, 23 goals
