Re: Playing players in correct positions- the conundrum

I am amazed that there is anyone left in the world that thinks in terms of fixed 4-4-2's or 4-5-1's etc no matter how hard Sky Sports try to push the idea. Every formation is adaptable and changeable depending on such a vast amount of factors - the passage of play, the opponent as a team, the oppon...

Re: RUMOUR: Denis Bergkamp as new manager?

Nice thought but Bergkamp is a very smart man who will assess risk. He will see the leaks in our ship and not jump aboard.

Re: QPR (H) Match Thread - Sponsored by Colin

This is the 68th season of my watching or following this football club.

The never ending periods of League 3 South back in the dark ages seemed bad at the time, but somehow this past few weeks have felt worse. So much promise, then the familiar decline.

Agreed, Clarke must go.

Without a win in last three, if we are a real promotion contender, we need to step up and thrash these tykes.

Re: Do you rate Lucas Piazon?

His performances have been as expected.

Jose M is no fool. He loaned Piazon out in the hope that a spell in the Championship would develop his toughness and physicality.

It's early doors to judge whether that will happen sufficiently.

Re: BFTG Charlton (H)

Some people, even supporters, are never happy. We won the game and go second in the second tier of English football, if that cheers them up!

In my days of League 3 South, we would have chaired Ronnie Blackman round the pitch in such circumstances.

Re: TEAMWATCH : Charlton (h)

3points Let's go for a good old fashioned 4-4-2 with tish and Norwood in midfield, McCleary and John on the wings and Sa and Blackman up front. Blackman can drop a bit deeper when defending.

Good points 3 points

Re: Cox Robins

linkenholtroyal also I don't think this may be the best idea with Vydra and Samuel injured that only leaves Sa and Blackman fit. I know with full fitness he is 5th choice but at the moment we may well be seeing liburd on the bench sometime soon

At this time Liburd > Cox by some distance.

Re: Reading's best ever left-back?

Has to be Ray "Bomber" Reeves. He was a centre half. Sorry, Old Biscuitman, but Bomber was quite definitely a left-back. Most of the time he played for us the centre-half position was filled by either Bill Davies or Dick Spiers. I stand rightfully corrected. I plead age, memory loss or wo...

Re: RUMOUR - Robert Beric

I don't think any media anywhere in Europe has any fcuking clue what's going on with Beric to be honest. It has always been so. Facts and truth are not of crucial interest to today's media. Having us watch/read them is what feeds them. Sadly I don't think Beric will have much enthusiasm for joining...

Lacoste So he has wide options yet starts with 4 central midfield players?

WTAF is he doing?

It's because he has a very defensive mind set.

Re: Returning Hero

Doyle's career has been largely in freefall since he left here. I did wonder if a return to his spiritual home might have been the thing he needs rather than a trip to the bizarre world of MLS. The MLS has moved on hugely. It is certainly not a bizarre world. There is serious football played there....

Re: Arsenal sign Jordi Emmanuel from Reading

Probably happened following McDermott's recommendation to Arsenal.

Can't blame the lad for jumping at it. Even if he doesn't make the grade there, he will learn a great deal more from experience at a club like Arsenal.

Good luck to him.
