Re: Thames Sports Investment

Look at blackburn and the debacle with Venkys. If the PL taking time avoids a similar fate for RFC that is all to the good.

Re: Do you want regime change at Reading?

LOL @ the 28 (at current count) simpering and pathetic happy-clappys who voted 'I blame the plastic, knee-jerk mentality of a large proportion of the fanbase' in this admittedly flawed poll; supporters never lost a 2-0 lead or boasted of a world class model or enforced a fire-sale of the best playe...

Re: RTG

I much prefer hearing Rogers talk positively and noting the bright spots then the dear in the headlights of Coppell at the end of last with no answers and no ideas. The points would have been great, but there's a difference between losing while playing with heart and simply throwing your hands up.

Re: Rodger's face

Brendan Rodgers could not be more different to Coppell in every respect. With all this talk of Europe and the Premier League compared to Coppell's 'we might fail' attitude, it's clear to see that Rodgers really is his opposite. Coppell always kept a straight, mundane expression on his face much unl...

Re: A sense of justice but bloody annoying

At his best, he's a very good player for us. And he's underlined this with a number of battling performances at international level. For those who were at the final fans forum, where Wally Downs and Kevin Dillon took the mic you will recall the questions and answers on the subject of his up and dow...

Re: NO LONGER A RUMOUR - Doyle to Wolves for £6.5m

I just watched the video of his departure. Interesting. He says he talked to Coppell who told him to go to the clubs and make his own mind up. It was a bit hard to make out, but it seems that later Doyle mentions that Coppell told him he'd (presumably Coppell) be delighted if he (Doyle) went to Wolv...

Re: Will Harps play a new tune under Brendan?

Hang on, didn't your course just involve standing around pretending to be a tree? I never once pretended to be a tree. I did Drama not Performing Arts thank you very much. I had to do essays and everything. Even the poncy ones didn't pretend to be trees (alright they did, but only once in the first...

Re: Return of Leroy Lita?

The further Lita is from RFC the better IMHO.I Just think that team unity has been a primary mover of our success in recent years and the relative absence of over inflatated egos has assisted with the collective all for one one for all spirit . It only takes one nutter to ruin a party. I know this ...

Re: Radio 4 on football finances

Football is now an industry. The amount of money pumped into clubs by Sky has supported the huge spiral of inflated players wages, demand for instant satisfaction from the board of directors of many clubs, the spiralling cycle of instant success on the pitch. The dissatisfaction of supporters who c...

Re: STEPHEN HUNT - IS HIS TIME UP?

Time to cash in, had an awful game yesterday with misplaced passes, crosses, shots and that terrible free kick. Summed up his performance with the worst cross i've seen him put in when he smashed it out for a throw on the other side of the pitch. If any club is dumb enough to put in a bid, on recen...

Re: SHunt - The Definitive Stay/Go Poll

It all comes down to attitude. I think Shunt is a key part of the team - if he wants to be. I remember so strongly wanting Shorey to stay - even had him as my screensaver - then we kept him and he played like he couldn't be bothered to scratch his back if it itched! I want Huntie to stay - but if he...

Reading: A Christmas Message to Stephen Hunt We're looking good at the mo. One point behind second, six points ahead of fourth and the opportunity to be second at Christmas (should we beat Brum away next weekend). Either way, I am allowing myself the faintest festive cheer and hope (in a very unCop...

Re: Harper a little concerned

Coppell was quoted recently as saying there was still a bit of a relegation hangover - I thought he was referring to Harps. I think Harper's time out is all for the good. It will turn his thinking from "whinge, moan, I should be playing for a premiership side" to "crap, if I don't wat...

Couldn't agree more....................yesterday's team selection restored much of the faith I used to have in Steve Coppell. whilst I agree that it was great to see the youngsters and I am still a coppell man surely the selection was down to injuries (Cisse, Gunnar, Doobs, Marek), players being re...

Football is never only a game; it's a metaphor for life. Because of your example, the fans, not to mention the players, whose paths you have crossed are now better prepared to deal with whatever of adversity or good fortune crosses their path. You have demonstrated true leadership on and off the pit...
