Re: Back from the game....... I really hate geordies

My first game since Villa, I have to say that the better team won without a doubt. We shouldn`t be too hard on Pearce who I thought played well apart from losing Nolan for the first goal (there must be countless centre halves who`ve done that this season). Siggy was nowhere until we brought on Churc...

Re: Rosenior return? / Right back spot to fill

What surprised me was the fact that Cummins was captain with Pearce in the side. It seems like Pearce is near the end of his time at RFC , no longer even considerd vice capt. It was noticable that the web site used the heading that Cummins was capt and that seemed more news than the 7 goals. Could ...

Re: Is this the worst Liverpool squad

Couldn`t be bothered to trawl the whole thread, but this is the worst Liverpool squad since the mid-90`s (Souness era). I have to say I cannot stand Liverpool - they seem to think that they are still at the top table when Blackburn and Leeds have won the league more recently than `The Reds`. They ha...

Re: Back from the Game / Computer

Agree with most on this thread, nobody had a bad game , 7/10 for all bar Mills (an absolute rock) and Bertrand who get 8. For an old chap, Alexander (no.2) did very well for them, virtually ran the game for the first 60/70 mins. So much so, he even thought he was reffing it (Note the amount of times...

I always thought Lawrie Sanchez never got the credit he deserved when playing with us, considering he was a teenager for most of that time. Shame he turned out to be a long-ball-not-very-imaginative-manager !

Re: Next Season

Have to agree with first poster, you can also add Long to the list as well, and I also think that if we are in the Championship, the likes of Doyle, Bikey and a sprinkling of the younger lads out on loan (eg Davies, Bennett) will be off as well.

Re: Official Coventry Match Thread

Sounds like the bloke on Final Score for BBC had it right........`Reading failed to take advantage of Wolves/Brum not playing, but on this showing, did not deserve to`,
Could apply to the last 2 months worth of games really........

Re: First Reading game?

Mine was last game of (I think) 74-75 season vs Mansfield Town, 1-1 I think. It is mentioned in `The Best Player you Never Saw` but I`ve lost my copy , so can`t remember scorers, crowd etc.. Anyway, deadly dull, didn`t start going in earnest till 78-9, first one of that season was Doncaster, 3-0, as...

It will be interesting to see if any more not out of contract players will be made available - Sodje, Bennett, then maybe Convey and Cisse. It looks like the club is doing the right thing so far (assuming Steve C is staying) by releasing the has beens and never have beens, and hopefully starting to ...
