Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Fanatics are getting binned off all coming back in house again imminently. If there’s a contract until 2028 it will presumably cost the club to get out early so if the club does that it’d have to be fairly sure that it’s replacement merchandising plans for the next couple of years at least recoup t...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Having been messed around so much in the past by Fanatics, I will not buy any club merchandise online. I still buy from the Fan Store which I realise is also run by Fanatics but the staff in there are really good and at least I know whether what I want is in stock so that I can get my hands on it i...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

I’ve been listening to the Price of Football podcast and there’s been a couple of questions regarding merchandising: whether clubs should do their merchandising inhouse or whether it is better for them to outsource it to a third party and how much clubs make from shirt sales. Apparently clubs recei...

Re: Hunt out.

Maybe one for ex-players thread, but it looks like Parkinson could leave Wrexham without quick improvements. If Hunt did get sacked, there is a Reading legend who you would back to bring immediate improvements to the team. However, football would be "pragmatic" and if he did get us promot...

Re: Car park 6 for Orient game

Hi, Unfortunately there are currently contract issues as now that Virgin Media does not use the Greyhound car park any more, the owners of the car park now want us pay the entire yearly contract, even though we use the car park less than once every other week. So we are currently in negotiations wi...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Just a side note: One of the Asst Referees today (Alan Higgs) used to referee my kids' games over twenty years ago, When I mentioned that, he told me that he will be 72 this year but he has to keep going as it gets him away from his wife!

Re: Reading FC Womens World

This was the first time that I've seen the Women's team play since their catastrophic demise courtesy of Dai and his mates. No disrespect to those involved with the team now but it really did bring home how far we have dropped down the pyramid. IMO substitutions and one seemingly shocking decision f...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Just reading about London Lionesses and their new "wealthy" American owner Michele Kang. Wonder if she is the woman Couhig said wanted to take over the RFC Women's team. I think she’d already bought the Lionesses before that. I think there was a wife of an American footballer (funny shape...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Our 19 (the player we’ve got as a dual registration from Swindon?) is an absolute class above most of the other players on the pitch today!

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Many thanks for your detailed notes Clyde. He's been very unhappy with the EFL's punishment of the club, especially when it comes down to contract restrictions - players who could've had resell value were lost on free transfers. And that is one of the many reasons why the EFL in its current form isn...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

How many subs are we allowed on the bench at this level? It looks like we named five. Allowed 5 substitutes, but unlimited substitutions - "A Player who has been substituted becomes a substitute and may replace a Player at any time". Goes up to 7 substitutes (but only 5 substitutions) at ...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

tidus_mi2
Royals and Racers 3-1 57 mins Whitburn
4-1 90 + 3 Hayes

Same result as last season, should that be a concern?

I wouldn't have thought so. Sometimes it's quite hard, no matter how poor the opposition, to kick on beyond 4. Will be interesting to hear the views of those that were there though.

Royals and Racers Reading 0 Badshot Lea 1 16 mins
1-1 23 mins Wilson
2-1 42 mins Whitburn

Really need to go on and win this convincingly, given how much the squad has been strengthened.

And they did! 4-1

Re: Hunt out.

Performance poor again and against very limited opposition and like Brogue and a number of others I'm not convinced by Hunt/coaches. Hopefully the win and clean sheet will build confidence and I would wholly expect to see a tangible improvement in the next block of games given we have 2 weeks to wo...

Re: Confimred - Jack Marriott

Would rather have Michael…. Anyway back to Jack, just watched the highlights reel and he is a proper little poacher. Hadn’t quite realised how many of his goals were rebounds or loose balls. This might actually work for us. The amount of times we do really good link up play and there is no one ther...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

One imagines that this glowing synopsis of his glittering career is from his LinkedIn profile? Almost as if his background is in marketing and promotion. Should have kept referring to it as WWFC all the way through. People would assume that was Wolves and not a club that went nowhere and achieved n...
