Re: BFTG - Luton

Swift is not the player Stam bought, he is certainly not the player of the last two seasons. In the last 2/3 games he’s played at the highest level and been effective, it’s like a new signing. And when he doesn’t work there’s Ejaria.... bit difficult for opposition to shutdown both of these players...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Thought it was interesting that Howe was on the bench as Right back sub. With Bowen saying that those that work hard during training will get selected, does that mean that Gunter isn't training well or even interested? I don't think he's injured. Baldock and McCLeary are getting selected as they ar...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Royalwaster When is Joao likely to be back from injury? I know a lot of people don't like him, but think if motivated he could be lethal in this league and definitely better than Meite (who I don't rate ... just don't think he has a footballing brain).

Under Gomes none of the strikers looked effective.

Re: BFTG - Luton

Not sure how Meite, Loader, Joao and Boye will all fit in when they’re all fit. McCleary has now earned his place on the bench so it’s most likely two from four out of that lot We could have a fully fit squad for Brentford. Serious competition for places. The next two games will be tough but we sho...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Puscas - Should have scored in the first half but dallied for too long and the chance went. Only other chance was a header that he was stretching for. 6 Baldock - No real chances but worked his backside off. 6 Partnership potential - 9 Signs of a promising partnership forming between the 2 of them....

Re: BFTG - Luton

 Why was Baldock sidelined? A pivotal part of the team at the current time. That was a complete team performance. Been a long time coming. Thought the stat that Bowen is Readings most successful manager after 4 games in 40 years is a fair reflection of the transformation. Whatever he and Nied...

Re: BFTG Millwall

2 world wars, 1 world cup We were doing well.

Then Blackett came on.

Another decent crosser of the ball. Could relieve some of the work rate off Obita pushing forward.

Re: BFTG Millwall

URZZZZ Sounds like some of Stam’s games in season 1. Go two up, stop playing, invite pressure, concede a goal and hang on for grim death at the end

That's why competitive games are good to watch.

Re: BFTG Millwall

I think a lot of it is down to Bowen’s approach. We’ve supposedly had the “better players” for 26 months and it’s always led to consistent disappointment. His management so far has been simple yet effective. Pragmatic approach to games, playing players in their right positions, good structure of th...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Snowflake Royal Wasn't much impressed with what I saw of Osho on tour. Seemed quite clumsy and too easily bullied.

Needs game time in order to have a chance to develop.

Re: BFTG Millwall

Baldock's going to be key to any success we have in the near future. He's the one frontman who could play with, and bring out the best, any of our other forwards. It is a total mystery why he was sidelined by Jose, particularly when he looked to have impressed pre-season. Really enjoyed that game, ...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Saw the bicycle kick, didn't think he had it in him! Strangely enough, I always thought he was slightly poor in the air for someone of his size but was relatively decent on the ground. I always thought Bod and Baldock would make a good partnership but we never really got to see it. Shame Yeah agree...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Heard there was a bit of trouble. Lack of police outside south stand Obvs the rest of your post is nonsense At the end of the game some of the Millwall lot looked to be spoiling for a fight. They seemed to be trying to get past the stewards towards our fans in the other part of the South Stand. Was...

Re: How times change

I think the problem is that we all watch the Prem and Europe on telly, then go to an actual Championship game and get frustrated by our lack of quality in comparison. Rather than watch a game on the telly. I wander across the road to watch a live game. Far more preferable. Quality often doesn't gene...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a) sponsored by Neil Webb

Got as far as Leicester services. Journey up from Swindon was awlfull. Continual heavy rain all the way. Just one of those things.

At least I didn't all the way to the ground. Early call off was far better than the farce some years back at Sheff Utd. When I was literally outside the ground.

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

And posting on here, apparently. No offence all :D but I get the impression the social media types are much younger than us on here, most of the regular posters have clearly been following the club for decades. My point was more just that even if Gomes improved things a bit, it's really quite sad t...
