Re: Osho - best crosser of the ball at the club. Discuss.

I have only seen Aruna a couple of times, however he is vertically challenged and teams will target his lack of physicality if he plays at RB.Playing in midfield he can however see a pass and is tidy on the ball. Came as a defensive midfielder. Having seen him play. Makes you wonder whose decision i...

Re: Dai Yongge in trouble with Chinese government

SCIAG SJM was a used car salesman, they’re the least dodgy people in the world.

Started a business that's currently worth over £5 billion on the LSE. Some people play hard but ethically.

Re: Confimred loan - Ovie Ejaria

Funnily I think he was at his best (maybe not most effective) in that brief spell where he played wide left with Blackett near him and Swift on the inside. His quick movement and slick passing led to a lot more development than it did in other positions. He didn't shine but he allowed others to shi...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Except Was it last summer we offered Moore a new deal to stop him going to Brighton ? And was it £15 million And why would we be talking to Liverpool about Ejaria’s wages ? What we pay him Is nothing to do with them once he is a Reading player You can sometimes make arrangements with the selling cl...

Re: Confimred loan - Ovie Ejaria

But his form tailed off and now it has become apparent why Liverpool were happy to take £3m for him. Watching the Liverpool U23's play in the FA Cup earlier in the season. All too apparent why he has been discarded. A player that needs a kick up the backside by playing in the lower leagues. Talent ...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

You forgot the creme de la creme. Aluko. Don’t mention that name! What on earth are we going to do with him?! What’s everybody’s take on Alukho.Somebody posted players salaries on here a couple of weeks ago which indicated a weekly salary paid to him of £15k a week.Yet I always understood he had a ...

Re: Rumour - Josh Laurent

YouTube clip and all, but I love the welcome to RFC highlights someone has put up of his last season. Quick, strong, direct, energetic, balanced, committed, tenacious, simple and effective. https://youtu.be/4ru-s77qftM Saw a few people calling him Ruben on his Instagram post, does seem stylisticall...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

SCIAG Cooper didn’t have a problem with the passing game. His problem was that he couldn’t reliably defend. Every match he’d make a serious mistake. Just wasn’t up to the standard.

Precisely why Blackett no longer plays centre back. Lapses in concentration.

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Can’t really call Araruna ‘deadwood’. Unfortunately, like Boye and others, (ie Carrico), these players have risen through some of the best academies in world football and just haven’t been utilised correctly by Reading. They’ll all go on to do very well for themselves. Agree, harsh to call Araruna ...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Flesh this out a bit for us champ. Never just seen it. Moaning that the club told him via phone whilst he was on holiday. What was it he wanted them to do exactly or expected? Probably a meeting in the office before he oxf*rd off I suppose. To discuss what. By the time he returns from holiday. Pre ...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

He lost all confidence when he was played up top, or part of a “revolving” front three with no strikers Was the wrong decision from Stam to mess the system and his role about but ultimately the right decision to move him on eventually as he was contributing very little towards the end Cooper was co...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

Same manager though. So, if it was just a couple of players making the difference, what was the point of changing the manager? Or, if it wasn't those players, but we were just really lucky the season before, and really unlucky that season - again, what was the point of changing the manager? That's ...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

It wasn't really the same side under Stam in his second season though. Our two best and most influential players on the season, at GK and ST, left or basically played no part. We replaced Beerens with Barrow - fine, but our midfield also fell apart. Williams, Swift, Kelly, Berg and Evans vs Berg, K...

Re: Obita new contract

Obita, Blackett and Gunter are all good enough to play at this level still. I think Richards is probably our best option at left back, but only just. Shows what dire straits we must be in financially. Blackett chose not to stay. Neither Gunter nor Obita would be first choice selections on the team ...

Re: Rumour - Josh Laurent

I don’t see why being from the lower leagues makes a player automatically more hungry though. John Swift came from Chelsea known as just a youth prospect, in his four years with us he’s matured and has become known as one of the most technically gifted players in the championship. Worked his way up...

Re: Rumour - Josh Laurent

Can we make this site a ‘young and hungry‘ cliche free zone? It’s ridiculous. A) He’s 25 B) Age has practically zero impact on a players mindset C) Let’s not pretend coming up from a lower division makes you any better of a signing Peace At 25 will have a degree of maturity and plenty of experience...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

If we're going back on our word with Liverpool only to sign him on a free, I assume they will never loan/sell us anybody again and could have grounds to take us to court. I assume we're making a late attempt to get him to agree to a lower wage, which isn't as silly as it sounds in the current envir...

They raved about Dave Edwards to be fair Like Charlie Adams past his sell by date by the time he arrived at Reading. Nor like many of our purcha...
