Re: 2006 v 2012

They were both incredible! I don't think it gets better than being promoted. And I mean that sincerely as promotion years are better than any of the years we were in the Prem. The struggle and the success is just the ultimate high.

So happy for such a classy team!

I laughed at the crying child as well. My MIL is visiting - gave me a look like, 'What is wrong with you?'

Haven't watched much football at all this year - but that was utterly delicious.

Re: Gerrard

Did anyone see the Hugo from Lost look-alike walk behind the reporter during the six o'clock news report of this story yesterday? It was absolutely hilarious. So obvious from the video footage that Mr Gerrard was lying left and right. Still - seemed to me like the normal male fracas so I don't see w...

Re: New manager Brendan Rodgers *confirmed*

Very sorry to not troll through all 71 pages... but could someone give me a precis on Rodgers? Not history - I can get that on wiki - just what kind of game he tends toward, what kind of players, what kind of temperament? Or point me towards that info?

What the hell was that kiss thing about?

I didn't know that Madejski had been knighted. LOL- at him introducing himself as Sir.

Re: England v Kazakhstan 11/10/08 KO:17.15

Sorry about this being a bit off-topic, but is anyone else's picture really shit? We have a HD tv- though no HD service as of yet, and the game looks absolutely horrible. No clarity at all. I realise the sometimes non-HD shows on a HD tv can look a little worse than a normal tube television but this...

Re: Championship Play-off Final

Above all, though, I wanted to be able to tell the ecstatic Hull fans around me to enjoy their day and remember this day, because next season will be a series of disappointments and struggles where they're making up the numbers in an uncompetitive league. At least I was able to tell some Brizzle fa...

Re: Championship Play-off Final

Great day at Wembley yesterday. Mr V is predictably over the moon about things. Was a bit of a lesson in football loyalties though. I always considered Hull my #2 team after Reading and I was quite happy for them. But my heart really isn't in it like it is with Reading. I was happy for Hull, happy f...

Re: Reading are a lot like Princess Diana.....

That deserves a full copy paste. Written by Gerry McDonnell. Saying goodbye to the football season is very much like giving birth to a ginger child: after nine months of optimism, hope and anguish, you’re left with a genuine feeling of disappointment. The final day is often emotional. Who could forg...

Re: who voted for stephen hunt?

Hunty has won because he consistently seems to be the only one that gives a shit. Running around like he's the energizer bunny.... half of the time it gets him nowhere but damn - it's nice to see someone trying. Whereas that Hahnemann is a right lazy twat, I've hardly ever seen him leave that big a...

Re: HARPER

Harper was woeful. I've had to put his inability to pass forward down to a phobia at this point as it's just that chronic. He's a lovely man and has a great spirit, but if I watch him run the ball into the sidelines one more time as he then desperately tries to pass as he has no choice left, I shall...

Re: Wigan Match Thread

It's so unfair when at this stage of the season some clubs are given an advantage because the side they are playing are not their full strength team. Having said that, we couldn't beat Liverpool reserves at the moment. So it's our own fault ultimately. its not unfair at all, its up to them t...

Re: Matejovsky slams selfish strikers

Reading boss Steve Coppell was unimpressed by Marek Matejovsky's comments this week about his strikers being too selfish and the manager swanning around training doing nothing Coppell said: "I walk around and don't do anything do I? I've been a manager for 25 years yet, amazingly, people still...
