Re: MATCHWATCH : Brentford (h)

Few thoughts, most already mentioned - Positives - - Knew ahead of the game that we were playing the best team in the league and we had to be in on our absolute 'A game' to compete with them to get points - and that first half was probably the best performance I have seen from us for years - the int...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stoke City (a)

Take a point, far from our free flowing attacking best but a clean sheet at Stoke in tough conditions with a number of teams around us dropping points - that’ll do. Meite caused problems when he came on. The kids on Twitter calling the performance a disgrace need to get in the bin and remember how f...

Re: Rival Watch

I think Brentford will win the league at a canter in the end, signing Reid yesterday was a great signing and I think after last season (how they somehow blew it) they are more prepared than ever to go up. For me, Norwich are the ones there for the taking if a top two spot was up for grabs (still can...

Re: Best player you've ever seen play against us

A few spring to mind - Hoekstra (2003), Stoke 3-0 Reading - don't think I had ever heard of him before the game, certainly had by the time we left the Britannia - absolutely tore us apart down our right side and bagged himself a hat-trick Lescott (2003), Reading 0-1 Wolves - I thought he was immense...

Re: Back to the Mad Stad

Can't believe it is being suggested people aren't purchasing tickets because of concerns that RFC aren't socially distancing the seats enough... I am sure the Club are meeting all the measures that need to be in place for the safe return of fans. I understand that there will be some reservat...

Re: Back to the Mad Stad

I really hope we sell those last remaining 80 tickets!

Imagine not being able to sell out 2,000 home tickets after no crowds for 9 months and we are 4th in the league

Re: BFTG Wednesday

Such a frustrating match to watch, my thoughts fwiw: - Pulis had done his homework and set-up perfectly with XI men to allow us to have the ball, wait for a mistake then nab a goal. Exactly how Cov, PNE and Stoke beat us. Then tbf to him, what he did at HT to stifle us further worked - We shouldn't ...

Re: Back from whatever that was.

First 20 minutes we looked so dangerous and the only thing we didn’t do is put the ball in the net. Stupid stupid mistakes that are so frustrating to watch have cost us. Esteves one was a clear mistake (followed by an embarrassing tweet by C.Friday questioning his ability, the kid is 18 and developi...

Re: Back from the pain

Pretty much to echo what has been said in here already. Joao or Aluko chance goes in before the break it is a different game - Positives (always have to lead with these as Adkins would) - - Creating more chances now - Semedo looks a solid signing - Injured players to come back (key players too) - St...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by David Leworthy

The usual line from Pauno et al is the next game is always the most important game of the season, but this genuinely is imho, a win and we are back on track with another (tough but) winnable home game vs Stoke on Saturday ahead of a very difficult run of games (fortunately basically all on Sky!). Th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by Paul McShane

Who is Sheff U this year, Brizzle or Bournemouth? Bristol City injury woes look grim for them. Bournemouth I reckon Are Watford Palace? And Swansea Watford? That just leaves Leeds and PNE. Brentford (Toney will score for fun) and Norwich (strong squad) I would say. Honorable mention to Mboro with C...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by Paul McShane

Before the Wycombe and Rotherham games I likened both to our game against Crewe in 05/06 - solid start and those games being just about getting the 3pts like we did with Ivar's 81st minute bobbler against Crewe - as pervious seasons they would have ended a draw or 0-1. If I was to draw a comparison...

Re: What has changed so much from last season?

Penny for Mark Bowen's thoughts on the start we have had... What I think has changed is: - Main factor, Joao is fit and playing games (doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that our last good run of results was last when Joao was fit and playing regularly up top on his own, he then got injured vs F...

Re: RUMOUR: Rafael

Bacuna arguably a success actually - played ok for us and seems like we made a profit on him I'd put him down as ok or a qualified success rather than a definite clear success. He did fine, but we were looking for more than that from him. I thought Bacuna was fine for us, like you say Ian. Not a hu...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by Paul McShane

Toughest challenge yet for the season I would say. Blackburn create a lot of chances and our defence will have to be on-it like they have been all season to get another clean sheet. One thing that is for sure, is we will create chances imo - and have to take them. Pauno must have had this game in-mi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h) sponsored by Keith Scott

Wouldn't change the line-up from Saturday unless there are any injury doubts (e.g. if Joao needs to be treated with caution after his injury could put Puscas back up top but Wycombe will be a very physical team). Appreciate everyone is excited to see Esteves (inc myself) - but we have currently conc...

Re: Rumour - Tomás Esteves

A lot of people excited about this move which is good - admittedly have never heard of him but offers good competition at full back. Yiadom has played LB for us in the past before so he can cover there if needed and Esteves gets that RB place nailed. Still desperate for a back up hold-up striker imo...
