Re: Euros 2028

The Final has been moved forward to a 5pm BST kick off, which makes a lot more sense than an evening game. Same for this season's UCL final and beyond. Good news if you are a match going fan. And for families watching at home with younger kids who couldn't stay up to watch finals starting at 8pm (o...

Re: World Cup 2026

Yeah Norway are there bar a 4 goal defeat. I for one am here for Italy failing to qualify again, a third time in a row. Ekitike got his first goal for France last night, and it's a beauty. https://x.com/UtdXQueku/status/1989239176064065840 Arne Slot take note - wide left is his best position. What'...

Re: World Cup 2026

Two more goals for Haaland, he now has 53 in 47 caps for Norway, and ten in his last three games. Norway have all but secured their spot at the World Cup. He's also approaching quite an obscure record. He has scored in each of his last ten international matches - if he scores in Italy on Sunday eve...

Brogue Reading are on the longest current goal-scoring run in England’s top four tiers having scored in 13 consecutive league games.

Re: FA Youth Cup 2025/6

Date announced for 2nd round tie v Cheltenham Town is Wednesday 12th November SCL stadium KO 7pm Hopefully a few tickets sold and the U 18’s get a decent attendance. Not looking great - seems only 98 sold so far. Would say the club haven't advertised it very well so far. Hardly a glamour tie - imag...

Re: Poll: Recruitment

Just noticed that all the players we recruited in the summer came straight in and were not on trial with us first However we did have several players on trial but didn't sign any of them Does this imply anything - Should we have trial the ones we signed before signing them? Did we waste time triali...

Re: Poll: Recruitment

I think we’ll see quite a lot of movement early in the transfer window anyway in both directions If Hunt is banging on about 3-4 more players needed which he wasn’t supported on I don’t think his helping himself mind you. The numbers were plenty sufficient just the profiles, performances and injuri...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Sanguine Wolves set to hire Gary O'Neil as their new boss, 11 months after sacking him. :D

The Sheffield United approach to management hiring.

At least Peterborough normally left it a little while longer before switching between Ferguson & McCann.

It's November and I still haven't watched a minute of us in action this season. I'm not sure that will change on Thursday.

3-1 Stevenage.

Re: Rob Kelly - New Assistant Manager

Least surprising news of the day… Yes but interesting* that we appear to have taken him from Barrow - so unless there was a clause in his contract allowing him to move in certain circumstances, we may have had to pay a release fee. Also interestingly, whilst the press release states they worked tog...

Rob Kelly - New Assistant Manager

Not much more to add - joins from Barrow. Work with Richardson before at Wigan.

Re: FA Youth Cup 2025/6

I always find it a bit strange that when teams enter the Youth Cup is based on the status of their first team and not the academy status i.e. - we as a club with the top Academy status have to enter at round 1 rather than round 3 whilst a Championship club with a lower rated academy get a bye to rou...

Winston Biscuit Harry Kane is 50% of the way to equaling his best ever goalscoring season with Bayern, and its still October.

Bayern are so much better than everyone this season, that whilst it is incredibly unlikely, I am half tempted to stick some money on them having a 100% record at the end of the season.

Re: CONFIRMED: Leam Richardson

Criticising Beattie and Schofield for their management record when they've been hired as coaches is pretty special. Not all coaches make good managers. Not succeeding as a manager doesn't make you a bad coach. Some people are just determined to be negative. And I would argue it actually shows them ...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

So why haven't they? Why has he been unemployed for ages? Who knows? His choice? Recency bias? He's actually shit? We'll find out soon enough. If it was his choice to remain out of football for so long I wonder what it was about Reading that convinced him to join us? Working with his mate Joe?

Win % of his past five seasons: 8.7% - 2 wins in 23 25% - 5 wins in 20 58.7% - 27 wins in 46 32% - 11 wins in 34 27% - 9 wins in 33 if we win 30% of our remaining fixtures (which is his average win % over his last 5 seasons) there are 32 games remaining, that's 9 wins. 27 points. we are on 15 point...
