Are Huddersfield the only team to be promoted twice without scoring in the final?

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Simple step - does it pass the stink test. In other words, does it smell like bullshit. Someone posting at 10.30pm on a Sunday of a bank holiday, is more likely to be someone having had one too many and seeing what reaction they can get as opposed to someone with intimate details of a complicated bu...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Selles walks before any takeover is completed. Strong possibility if it seriously impairs recruitment over the summer - no idea who we are looking at of course but expect there are Free Agents who have already signed elsewhere that we will have been hoping to at least speak to with some stabilty be...

Re: Weekend Football

They've got to 3 finals and haven't scored a goal in any of them. Thought yesterday was their 4th? Though one final was in 1987 when it was still over 2 legs. They lost a one-off replay though. Interesting* to note that Leeds seem to have it in their heads that they are the first team in history to...

Re: Rival Watch

They survive for a couple of seasons sometimes... just like they sometimes go a few seasons without promotion. True however since 2012/13 then have spent 5 seasons in L1 or L2 - they have been promoted in each of those 5 seasons. That's a frankly mental run of lower division success, and the sort t...

Re: Weekend Football

The football of today, Leeds had numerous chances to sling it into the box but all it was was short probing passes outside of the box mostly going backwards while saints played fast aggressive attacking football. I read that is Leeds 6th unsuccessful play-off campaign but I don`t know how many fina...

Re: Ex Players

James Henry (now 34) released by the Ox. Wonder if he might end up back here? In our first Premier League season I was fortunate (not so fortunate for him  ) to be sat next to Steve Coppell at the League Managers Association annual dinner at Stamford Bridge. He was very open when we talked ab...

Re: Rival Watch

That was pretty much a given. Yep, but most of those will not have come cheap on the wages front. Promotion likely a must (before the guaranteed relegation next season). They survive for a couple of seasons sometimes... just like they sometimes go a few seasons without promotion. True however since...

Re: Rival Watch

Rotherham have already made five signings, all free transfers: Jonson Clarke-Harris (from Peterborough); Reece James (Sheff Wed); Shaun McWilliams (Northampton); Joe Rafferty (Portsmouth); Sean Raggett (Portsmouth). They'll be challenging towards the top this season. That was pretty much a given. Y...

First "ITK" on Twitter claiming its all fallen through, which is possible of course but, you know, its Twitter.

That'll teach me to have a look at Twitter for the first time in a week or two.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

ITK Eddie reporting on Twitter the hold up is Chiron want the loans taken off the asking price, sounds reasonable to me. Surely this would have been covered in the exclusivity agreement>? Well that would make total sense - they aren't the owners yet, the owner won't pay the clubs way, so why should...

Barnsley have appointed Cheltenham manager Darrell Clarke as their new boss. Think that should be a good move for all parties.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Rooney to Plymouth is just laughable. Have to wonder the mentality of these clubs. Unsuccessful at the 3 clubs he has been at. Complete red flags against his name. You do wonder if this is more about him, bustling his way in there, with a celebrity consortium as well. It's almost as if some clubs j...

Re: Pre-season 2024

PSF are dull. They are training games, used to practice formations, bring new signings up to speed and test out the odd trialist, most of whom won't even sign. Would prefer they played them all behind closed doors esp versus the likes of QPR as opening up the game at the SCL will probably end up cos...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Despite the success of the Academy on the pitch this year, hard to disagree that keeping Cat 1 as a League 1 club is an unneccesary drain on tight resources. Only 11 clubs outside the PL actually have them and with Leicester up and Leeds/Soton in the play-off, that total will be down to 9/26 next se...

Guessing we'll get a club statement this week on the matter which doesn't tell us anything we don't know. See Anthony Smith has also stuck his neck out again after the Gymshark debacle. No credibility left. What's he said now, avoiding Twitter like the plague at the mo. Regurgitating rumours that a...

The club announced as part of the 1st team retained list that Abrefa has been offered a new deal and he is reviewing the situation.

Taylan Harris was sold to Luton in January, hence why he is not on the lists.
