Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Barnsley have appointed Cheltenham manager Darrell Clarke as their new boss. Think that should be a good move for all parties.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Rooney to Plymouth is just laughable. Have to wonder the mentality of these clubs. Unsuccessful at the 3 clubs he has been at. Complete red flags against his name. You do wonder if this is more about him, bustling his way in there, with a celebrity consortium as well. It's almost as if some clubs j...

Winston Biscuit Suggestions Bayern Munich have opted for Vincent Kompany (with Craig Bellamy)

Read that Bellamy was unlikely to go there.

Re: Pre-season 2024

PSF are dull. They are training games, used to practice formations, bring new signings up to speed and test out the odd trialist, most of whom won't even sign. Would prefer they played them all behind closed doors esp versus the likes of QPR as opening up the game at the SCL will probably end up cos...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Despite the success of the Academy on the pitch this year, hard to disagree that keeping Cat 1 as a League 1 club is an unneccesary drain on tight resources. Only 11 clubs outside the PL actually have them and with Leicester up and Leeds/Soton in the play-off, that total will be down to 9/26 next se...

Guessing we'll get a club statement this week on the matter which doesn't tell us anything we don't know. See Anthony Smith has also stuck his neck out again after the Gymshark debacle. No credibility left. What's he said now, avoiding Twitter like the plague at the mo. Regurgitating rumours that a...

The club announced as part of the 1st team retained list that Abrefa has been offered a new deal and he is reviewing the situation.

Taylan Harris was sold to Luton in January, hence why he is not on the lists.

Re: Rival Watch

It would greatly surprise me if there is any footballing sanction of note at all! The PL won't have the balls to do it because they know they don't have the financial clout of an oil nation to see it through. The likely result will be a huge fine (which the dopers will find down the back of their s...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

It would be a rather odd negotiating position from Chiron to intentionally drag their feet over some minor details during this crucial off-season period just to save a few £m on the purchase price. Given the current state we are in if they don't get the next 8 weeks right then next season will be a...

Re: Players on international duty

Strange with Elliott - was getting picked when not playing regularly, breaks through as a regular, dropped by his country. Can only assume it is because of the fact he won't have played for over a month by the time of the games. Could be a fitness thing or the manager has decided to look at some di...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Looking at the prize money on offer, it is surprising that more teams don't take the EFL Trophy slightly more seriously - appreciate that there are costs involved in putting on/getting to a game but just taking our run to the last 16 in to account - this would have banked the club 39k - not a massiv...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Scottish League Cup announced new prize fund today.

A team that enters and loses every group game will get £36k.

A side entering Round 1 in England only makes that money if they reach the quarter finals.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

However that was for the season 2022/23 when the format was changed from under 23 to under 21 and might have been a transitional phase. Confusing now because the Premier League are also saying for 2023/2024 the players must be under 21! So how some of the over age players qualified is a bit of a my...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Thank you - didn't think it would be as early as January. So that gives another season of U21 football for CBC, Borgnis and Wareham and only three starters from yesterday becoming overage for next season (Carson, who we already know to be leaving; Stickland; Wellens). If we're allowed three overage...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Everyone would be better off going with the mantra, what happens, happens. We have zero control on this process now and whilst we all want it done, it will either be done or collapse when it happens - until then, no ITK tweet changes a god damn thing. Just in the last few days, we've had a usually f...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Looking increasingly likely that Kieron McKenna will jump ship from Ipswich having got them to the PL - Brighton seemingly the most likely destination. Would make absolute sense for his career but would make Ipswich's task in staying up much much harder. That always makes me feel so disappointed. Y...
