Re: Selles confimred

Yes completely agree re Twitter, but something's not right with this appointment. It doesn't take that long to get a work permit, particularly for someone who's worked in the UK recently...was also nowhere to be seen on Sat. Season starts 3 weeks Sat....no players, no manager...very worrying if we ...

Re: The dedicated Chris Wilder thread

I didnt know Alan Knill was born in Slough… I remember him as a player for mainly lower league northern teams (apart from a spell at Swansea) and had just assumed he is a northerner. Alan Knill, I remember watching him play for Swansea back in the late 80s thinking his name would be a good fit for ...

Re: Weekend Football

There was a moment in the first half when Rashford didn’t even leave the ground for a 50/50 headed challenge and there was mass booing from the Nited “support”. United’s away support is usually one of the best, if not the best in the league but when it gets diluted by day trippers and the United wor...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h)

Zammo 21,000 tickets sold, confirmed by the club this morning. Actual WTF. Gonna be a day of proper drama.

Wigan have sold just under 1,000 so if you exclude the other 1,200 empty seats in the away end there is not a left in the home ends…

Re: Rival Watch

IF we were to beat Wigan by 3+ I think i'd want Hudders to win at Cardiff on Sunday. I think the chances of us beating a Hudders team who are safe and Cardiff losing at Burnley are greater than the chances of us beating a Hudders side that need a result to stay up. I can't believe Burnley will be h...

Re: Rival Watch

If Reading win both QPR need a WIN to stay above Reading (because of a -26 GD) Two draws would not be enough Away to Stoke will be tough to win, and, though Bristol will be on the beach, a draw or even a Bristol win is by no means unlikely On the beach or the freedom to play with no pressure? Re: Football Stadia - Past, Present & Future

Might have had this. Abandoned, crumbling, but still stunning. Valencia's 80,000-capacity Nou Mestalla is in disrepair, the site having been vacant since money problems halted its building in 2009. https://i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk/incoming/article27713917.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/1_JS274370455.jpg Brings...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (h)

The one hope really is that Wigan must know it's pretty much all over. They have to win both of their last two games, hope Huddersfield lose both of their next two, then draw with us, while also hoping Blackpool don't win their last two, or they are down. They’ve asked for a further 500 tickets app...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

I’m not too disappointed that AC will be suspended on Saturday. We will have to play the youngsters that will give us more pace on the break at Cov.

The Wigan game is the one we have to get 3 points from.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

YorkshireRoyal99
From Despair To Where? Leeds were in League 1 at the time and had just lost in the playoffs to Doncaster so the fan was trying to convince themselves that they were still the biggest club in Yorkshire.

Exactly why I hate Leeds, the arrogance.

I’m hoping us and Huddersfield need a draw final day and we see scenes like this: https://youtu.be/bDtljx7UPmY Warnock hoisted into the air by the travelling Reading fans <3 It’s the way it’s meant to end Or a punch to the kidneys after an I’ll tempered pitch invasion while an angry mob waits outsi...

I remember in the early 90s we had a fan from Cameroon who was a fan of our “carpet football” at the time. I bet his spirits have been raised by the prospect of the end of Carrollball.

Re: Huddersfield (A)

It’s a South Bank thing, left side, right side, pinched from Chelsea and the Shed where I think it probably originated from. Huddersfield owe us anyway after rolling over and having our tummies tickled at Wembley in 2017. Hopefully it will be a big party on the last day with both us and Huddersfield...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

All this Oxford guff reminds me of a Brighton fan who used to work at the same company as me. He found out I was a Reading fan when I started and sought me out, to tell me Reading were tinpot and Brighton didn't care about us at all. He then proceeded to moan about how we stole Steve Coppell and we...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Maybe Oxford fans are just upset they are closer to relegation to League Two than we are to relegation to League One. I was looking earlier at their remaining 9 games and they should be worried! Still to play Shef Weds, Barnsley, Portsmouth, Bolton and Peterborough as well as relegation six pointer...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Anyone over the age of 50 knows the rivalry. To anyone below 30, Oxford are just another local lower league club like Wycombe, or Swindon come to that. It’s nearly 20 years since we last played Oxford, a period where we have had two promotions to the top flight as champions and have spent an unbroke...
