Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Game was briefly paused because of discriminatory chanting, unclear who from.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Looks like JP injured, hopefully not a bad one.

Cancel, he’s playing on.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Wareham very close to a second - need to work harder to stop the cross coming in.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

Mansfield had some decent chances beyond their goal and the goal ruled offside looked very tight - albeit I was down the other end of the stadium. We weren’t great today, so many individual errors, but I wonder how much the very strong wind impacted us. We seemed to be playing more passes on the gro...

Re: Hunt out.

Gareth Ainsworth has Gillingham (joint) top of L2 and unbeaten in eight games, doubt the football is pretty but the ownership know him and would no doubt see him as a low risk alternative.

Re: Confimred - Paddy Lane

RG30 Did Hunt say post game why he was subbed off?

He went down with cramp just before getting hooked - don’t think he’s quite match fit yet.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Poor first half but improved in the second half and just about deserved the three points, though Vale offered very little going forward. I think we have to be a bit patient as the team are still working each other out - players today were not reading each other’s passes but that will come with time;...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

We look very flat, Kyerewaa has made some good runs but no end product. Need to get Wing on the ball more in the second half.

Re: BFTG Wycombe

Decent performance overall, Elliot was the key player for us - though a few times he kept dribbling when an earlier pass might have created a shooting opportunity. Always felt that at 2-1 we needed a third goal to see the game out, thought Wing had it with a long range effort and MoM unlucky to hit ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Genuine injury or covering up a gentlemen’s agreement that he doesn’t play against his former club?

Knibbs gets a last minute winner for Charlton today. Wareham starts and scores for Exeter.

Re: Noel Hunt Confrimed

We as fans might not lose patience if we have a slow start but I’m not sure we can say the same about the owners. Incumbent managers often don’t last long after an ownership change and I think the new regime won’t be slow to make a change if we start badly. What’s Gareth Ainsworth up to now anyway?...

That makes more sense - and presumably means Hunt has the funds to sign an upgrade on JW.

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Their being under contract notwithstanding, can we be confident that we keep Knibbs and/or Savage? Feels like both have admirers in the leagues above and we may not be able to resist decent offers for them, especially if the general financial picture is so terrible. Will be even more frustrating if ...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Feels to me that CB should be one of the more straightforward positions to recruit into, especially at L1 level and there’ll be plenty of opportunity to loan in from the leagues above. We just need to identify the new Matt Upson who can excel with us then become an international regular!

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Talking of former players, Tom Ince is barely getting a look in at Watford at the moment and might be out of contract (he signed a 2 year deal in 2023 with an option to extend for one year which I doubt will be taken up). Even at 33 he’d be a cut above in L1 and would also be a great role model for ...

Re: Players who started off good but became terrible

Harsh on The Rouge, he was consistently decent for us.

Drenthe was unbelievable on his debut but then was useless after that.
