Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

Successive worst performances of the season.

Bar Bristol, everything that could go wrong has since the ridiculous Holmes sub against Millwall.

VP's selection, subs and tactics generally were unforgivable tonight.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

Starting to feel a lot like when Stam got found out and his total lack of flexibility/plan b became painfully apparent.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (h)

Slim lead 76 minutes into a game against a physical side who are lumping balls forward and you bring off your young rb who hasn't put a foot wrong? It just doesn't make any sense. Full credit to Pauno for getting what he has out of this squad so far, but he has to take responsibility for this one. 7...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stoke City (a)

Played much better than that against them when they beat us in November. 8 - Rafael, Holmes, Morrison, TMc 7 - Richards, Laurent, 6 - Olise, Ejaria, Rino, Yak 5- Swift, Joao N/A - Aluko Credit Stoke for keeping up the pressure, they clearly identified Richards and Ejaria linking up as a danger and p...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brentford (a) sponsored by injury problems

3 shots on target, 3 goals.

We were always going to struggle today with the injuries we've got, but it's getting particularly difficult to defend Rafael.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h) sponsored by an utter shambles

Joao, Ejaria and Olise not at the races today. Meite anonymous but for his goal and winning the pen (which wasn't).

Credit to Brum for keeping the pressure/filthy sh*thousing on us throughout. We just couldn't deal with it.

Losing Meite and Joao for the festive period doesn't bear thinking about.

Jagermesiter1871
Zip An appalling performance. With Joao and Meite likely to be out it’s going to be very hard for us over the next few games.

What happened to Joao?

Clutching his thigh/hamstring after the lob attempt at the end there.

Morro up for the post-match with Sky and no sign of Olise. Says "We've got use him while we've got him" he says. Couldn't agree more.

Brilliant today. Did everything we had to without ever really leaving 3rd gear. Bring on Brum.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

Abysmal officiating, but our lack of squad depth exposed again. The only reason Baldock and Aluko are at the club is because we couldn't get rid of them, and it really really shows. Semedo is still atrocious in any kind of an attacking role, and we none of this should really matter if Oliver Langfor...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

From Joao's insta, Jayden Onen did his song/initiation (presumably at the team hotel?) last night.

Given his appearances on the bench lately thinking he can't be far away.

I know he scored last time out for the U23s, but can anyone comment on how he's been so far?

Re: BFS - Bristol City (H)

Second game in a row we've been done by a free kick that wasn't, and this time they were offside too. Have to admit my heart sank at that point, especially seeing as it was Wells, but the team's response was FANTASTIC. I criticised Ejaria after Millwall, but he was well and truly at the races today,...

Re: BTFF Millwall

Once again, Ovie was unimpressive last night. For his 5% of brilliance and moments of creative inspiration we're really toiling through the 95% of slow, overcomplicated gifting of the ball to the opposition, shanking/pulling selfish shots high/wide and generally killing momentum. He's not a LW, Sem...

Re: BFTT Bournemouth

Only able to watch the first half so left the house in a pretty good mood. Got back and switched on 20 seconds before Rafael gave Solanke his early Christmas present with one of the most abysmal bits of keeping since I last played in sticks. It's not just that we've now lost 4 in a row and conceded ...

If we're going to keep putting world-class crosses into the box (as we did time and again against Preston), you'd think at least one of our strikers would try and get on the end of them?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by David Leworthy

Joao scores any of his 2 or 3 (golden) chances at 0-0 and that's a totally different game. I actually thought some of our attacking, and in particular crossing, was quite good - even if there was noone there to get on the end of it. Defence, on the other hand, was a shambles. I was worried when I sa...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Coventry City (a) sponsored by Jimmy Hill

Everything that was good at Blackburn was awful tonight. Bad tackling, bad passing, Rafael's concentration going walkabout, Semedo reverting to the performance he put in against Rotherham and Aluko back to his old self. Credit to Coventry for the win, but they were far from good and there for the ta...

Lower West
NewCorkSeth Question going forward: is Olise better at free kicks than Swift?

Nope. I've seen Swift hit the woodwork on far more occasions.
