Re: Back from the game - Ipswich

Cracking couple of days in Suffolk capped by John Wark and Eric Gates coming into the bar we were in last night and being treated like the proper Ipswich legends that they are. Well worth staying over in Ipswich if you take in this away game in the future, It's a cracking town. The only downside was...

Re: CONFIMRED - Lewis Grabban

LoyalRoyal22 No recall option, & your not actually allowed to re-call outside of the transfer window ( excluding goal keepers)

Good news, thanks for the insight

Re: CONFIMRED - Lewis Grabban

Hope there is no recall clause in the deal following the injury to Callum Wilson in training yesterday. Maybe all phone lines should be disconnected for a couple of weeks just in case !

Re: Green Park Match Day Parking

The road from Costco back to the roundabout was shut off because the Cardiff coaches had all been parked down there. That meant everyone having to turn right out of Costco in order to exit through Green Park which might not have been a problem had someone had the sense to adjust the traffic light ti...

Re: Ipswich (a)

One thing to be aware of if your driving to Ipswich. The company I work for are removing a bridge over the A12 at Kelvedon and it will be shut all weekend with a 20 mile diversion route. Give yourself a bit more time to get there. Thanks for the information. Looks like A120 / M11 is a decent altern...

Re: The definitive Gunter thread

Think this is the red herring. A release clause is a safety net for the player, not the club. If the player wants to leave and the club doesn't, they have to let him go, if the release clause is met. Gunter has made it abundantly clear in the last number of years that he wants to stay at Reading. S...

Re: The definitive Gunter thread

He has plenty Championship level competition, and has done throughout those caps - e.g. Adam Matthews and Jazz Richards right now, Sam Ricketts and Neal Eardley (who were both PL players also) going back along. And we're talking about him being a championship player, aren't we? [quote] Ricketts was ...

Re: The definitive Gunter thread

I rate Chris Gunter as a good quality Championship attack minded full back who is capable of playing on a bigger stage as 80 or so Welsh caps would prove. Countless managers have made him first choice right back so he is obviously doing something right and can hardly be rated as useless. . I think ...

[quote="Top Flight"][quote="RoyalBlue"][quote="muirinho"] "I really do not get the rabid hatred that some of our 'support' display towards Gunter, nor do I get the 'love in' for Fredericks" The Gunter debate can rage elsewhere but just a nod to JS the other ni...

Re: The definitive Gunter thread

Strengths = Reads the game very well, rarely caught out of position, good pace, covers his centre back very well. Brilliant at falling over to win a free kick when stuck by the corner flag. Why do forward always fall for this ? Weakness = Passive in defence. Backs of his winger instead of dominating...

Re: BFTG - Fulham Home

We don't seem to have a player that can deal with Fredriks. Blackett got skinned by him every time. Stam then tried out Thiago and he couldn't live with him either. I wonder how Obita would have fared against Fulham's speedy wingman? Just read a few of your posts. You're either having a really bad ...

Re: Latest set of company accounts

I would like to see how it compares with other clubs in the division. Grayson at Preston was at pains to point out that he thought PNE were the only profitable club in the division or words to that effect. Noticed Chelsea (obviously a slightly different case) lost 70mill last year Also in a world w...

Re: BFTG - United (A)

I wonder if that has anything to do with them having better players than Reading and playing in a higher standard of league :?: That was the initial discussion question from NFA. If it's that simple then you'd have to believe that the current Hull side would be 1st or 2nd in the Championship this y...

Re: BFTG - United (A)

Do you think there is a big gulf in terms of quality with the bottom teams in the Prem and the top sides in the Champ? Hull gave United a much harder game last night and they look certainties for relegation this season. No, not huge. I only saw a bit of the game but it looked like Hull played very ...

Re: BFTG - United (A)

Tyler Blackett isn't good enough to play for Reading. Discuss How does Gunter play usually? The few times I've seen him he's been absolutely dreadful. He was absolutely woeful against United. For a seasoned pro with plenty of international experience he looks so nervous on the ball. Mick Gooding te...

Aside from that, the way we set up made it an easy afternoon for them. Nice to be present when Rooney achieved a landmark that may never be surpassed at any top flight ...

Re: Fulham (H) Predictions

Hoping we revert to 5 at the back for this one after they ripped our back 4 apart last time. Should be a decent game if we do. 1-1 Moore was serving his suspension in that game and we collapsed after going down to 10 men with the score at 2-0. Shouldn't need any switch in formation unless it's pure...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Its a no brainer, knows the club well, knows the players well and would settle in straight away. Already does the holding midfield role and would know his role straight away in a Jaap Stam side. Would rather take him in, have him hit the ground running than taking in Mutch (also a great player but ...
