Re: Jaap Stam to Leicester?

No chance. They need a quick fix, I dont think Stam introducing his style of play at this stage of there season would bring any kind of results. Imagine trying to get Huth & Morgan to pass it out from the back. What he said. Leicester are after a Fat Sam style quick fix. As good as Stam is I th...

Best home shirt in years, spoiled by a crap sponsor. Would prefer white shorts too.

I voted no, but I'd take relegation in exchange for winning the cup.

Re: Games You Wish You Hadn't Missed

Trevor Senior's last game (v Wigan?) - He ended up in goal before being carried from the pitch by fans. I was at home looking after my blind grandmother! Boxing Day v Cardiff - Always wanted to see a keeper score. Sod's law it was the only home game I missed all season as I was at the in-laws for xm...

Re: How good/bad was Phil Parkinson?

As most on here have suggested, Parky was the type of player every midfield needs. Would run all day and was fully committed in the tackle, though unlike other similar legends (Mick Tait, Terry Hurlock) wasn't a red card waiting to happen. He wasn't spectacular (apart from that Wolves goal) but was ...

Re: An Evening with Brian McDermott, hosted by ReadingFPA

Ha ha. Can't believe I used to think you were a decent poster m8. Yes, Brian is clearly a nice guy. Think he ably demonstrated that last night. The rest of your post is just bollox really. Don't recall Brian saying anything about "nobody reporting stuff" apart from a joke with Jonny Fordh...

Re: Who is this ex player?

We met him in corporate last year. Came across well, practically admitted being a bit shite but said the one thing that did piss him off was when people questoned his commitment.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Deadline Day

On the plus side, the expected deadline day disappointment might put an end to the big Russian love in. I can't help feeling we were better off under Madejski's ownership. Presumably Hammond will be the main scapegoat for failing to bring in Prem quality for next to nothing!

Re: Most Under rated player for Reading

Mick Gooding - most people would put him behind Parky in our all time list but for me he's the best central midfielder we've ever had (with the exception of Gylfi, who played a very different midfield role).

southbank1871 Sig and Defoe I reckon.

Don't be ridiculous....you know the smart money's on Messi & Ronaldo

Messi and Ronaldo! FFS, how many times - we need out and out centre forwards, we already have decent attacking midfielders/wingers!

Re: RUMOUR - Billy Sharp

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/billy-sharp-rubbishes-reading-fc-4687430? Billy Sharp has rubbished reports he is set to sign for Reading FC. Reports this morning suggested the Royals had agreed a £1.2 million fee with Southampton for the striker and that he had already had a medical. But the 27-...

Hardest player of the season vote ever, for all the wrong reasons. When they've played I think Hal and ALF have been the 2 to stand out.

Re: Worst "Player of the season"

No surprise to see everyone's favourite scapegoat Leigertwood winning this one. I accept he's been poor this season and isn't Prem standard but also feel he's been unfairly singled out. My vote went to Guthrie - every bit as poor as Leigertwood this season but with a shit attitude to go with it. At ...

Re: Most memorable World Cup?

I still love the World Cup but the stand out ones in my lifetime were a little way back. Italia '90 - probably the closest I'll come to seeing England win it. France '98 - the only one I've been to. Saw Brazil twice which was a bit special, including Ronaldo's 1st ever World Cup goal. Spain '82 - Th...

Re: Is Adkins the right choice?

Have had it up to here with everyone saying what a nice bloke Coppell was; what a nice bloke McDermott was blah blah. That doesn't count on the pitch. To be fair what happened out on the pitch under Coppell and McDermott was pretty outstanding - certainly far greater than anything any other Reading...

Re: Adkins Confirmed

Would rather we'd have kept Brian but having made that decision Adkins was always my first choice replacement. Poyet's record is nothing special and I thank the fcuking lord it wasn't Di Canio!

First home game against the Saints and I'm gonna fcukin miss it!
