Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Tom Norcott's had his loan at Woking extended until mid-November. He's played six times for them and started their last five league games, conceding just three in the league (plus two late goals in the National League Cup against West Ham's U21s). https://wokingfc.co.uk/09/18/tom-norcott-loan-exten...

https://img.a.transfermarkt.technology/portrait/big/38558-1447257902.jpg?lm=1 Is that Cwyka? Think he was signed just as Zingarevich turned up. Seem to recall he formed a very makeshift midfield at Brighton, with himself and Hayden Mullins - another people may have forgotten about playing for us. W...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Dean Gordon. Three games on loan from Coventry in 03/04. His name came up in a game of 'who would you rather have in the current squad' with a mate of mine. He was probably the only player since I started going I had no knowledge of. I've checked and I was certainly at a game he played (West Brom; ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (h)

Think we’d used our subs by the time Marriott was blowing. Not sure why he was so knackered tbh we were in a block most of that second half Hopefully up to speed with more games Had only played twenty-two minutes competitively for Wrexham this season prior to joining us (in the League Cup at Hull)....

Royals and Racers 12,553 attendance

1,072 Leyton Orient fans. 11,481 is our lowest home attendance in the league this season - despite all the Family Day marketing.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (h)

Have to say, we were lucky to win that game. Leyton Orient looked the best side I've seen us play this season, especially when it came to passing the ball around; they just lacked that cutting edge today. We fought well; looked better defensively and made some effective substitutions for a change. C...

Ben Elliott injured then?

Seems talk of Finley Burns being injured was overblown.

Re: Hunt in

It’s the nature of football rightly or wrongly now that you aren’t going to get a lot of time to get it right. If we can get a couple of wins in the next 4 games I’m sure he’ll be safe for a while yet but do fear for him if we lose the next 2 The nature of football can be changed by people choosing...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Fanatics are getting binned off all coming back in house again imminently. If there’s a contract until 2028 it will presumably cost the club to get out early so if the club does that it’d have to be fairly sure that it’s replacement merchandising plans for the next couple of years at least recoup t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (h)

Aside from the enforced change at centre-back (bring in Dorsett), I don't think we should be making any changes to the side for this one. Keep it as settled as possible at the moment.

Re: Balon d'Or 2025

How's it decided? Is there a chance of a complete surprise or is it pretty much guaranteed to be one of the 5 listed? Key football writers/journalists around Europe get to vote and Ronaldo or Messi win. Funnily enough I was just listening to a podcast and the journalists were talking about the voti...

Re: Burns injury

Looked nasty and like he'd be out for some time. Which with O'Connor out is a worry, especially with the defence struggling. But... could this be a blessing in disguise given our defensive woes. Can't say I've seen it, but Dorsett is supposed to be one of the quickest sprinters at the club. He play...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

There's a couple of things I've been looking at from the online shop, but have decided the same thing. I'd rather buy from the physical store, but most of what I may spend money on isn't available there (would also help with sizing, that's different with each manufacturer). IIRC, at least when our ...

Re: Fanatics and merchandising

Having been messed around so much in the past by Fanatics, I will not buy any club merchandise online. I still buy from the Fan Store which I realise is also run by Fanatics but the staff in there are really good and at least I know whether what I want is in stock so that I can get my hands on it i...

Fanatics and merchandising

I’ve been listening to the Price of Football podcast and there’s been a couple of questions regarding merchandising: whether clubs should do their merchandising inhouse or whether it is better for them to outsource it to a third party and how much clubs make from shirt sales. Apparently clubs receiv...

Brogue i spoke with S Hunt last night. Paudie will be in the matchday squad Saturday. Unlikely to get any minutes though. Possibly Wrexham he might get some time on the pitch.

We’ve got a couple of Trophy games coming up too. If he’s close now, I imagine he’ll be playing some part of those two.

618 homes. 616 car parking spaces. :? No mention of the conference facilities / exhibition space that was a big part of the original plans. Or the ice rink! Slightly surprised there's demand for another hotel, given you've got Voco next to the SCL, plus Hilton, Holiday Inn and Premier Inn within a ...
