Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Bromley won the National League play-off final on penalties following a 2-2 draw with Solihull Moors. Got to install a grass pitch in a very short window. Hope they can install the current 3G pitch somewhere else. Does seem a bit mad as they got that pitch less than ten years ago! I can't imagine t...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I was sat within earshot of Mr. Carson yesterday. Apparently Selles’ plan for the left back spot is to make a senior signing, then have Mola covering both full back positions and Dorsett covering both left back and centre back. Seems sensible to me. Mr. Carson thought if Matty could be a bit less r...

Echo IR's sentiment that basic lessons of geography put a cap on what Wycombe can achieve. Relatively small town with London and bigger clubs nearby; I don't keep who they're kidding with all this talk of shooting for the stars. A few years in the Championship is the best they can hope for. Realist...

Re: The non snowball stat thread

Got me thinking, we must have played some of them in the 4th tier too. How long would that list be? Four clubs by the looks of it: Portsmouth; Swansea; Watford; Wigan. In addition, we played Portsmouth; Swansea and Watford in the Southern League before joining the league. Swansea and Watford are th...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Tbf, our U21s put 9 past Exeter last season. To be really fair, Exeter's U21s To be absolutely, completely fair, it was Exeter's U19s To be ultra, mega fair, it wasn't our U21s - more our second strongest XI at the time. The team we started with was: Boyce-Clarke; Mbengue, Dean, McIntyre, Carson; E...

Re: Rival Watch

Wycombe have just been taken over by a Kazakh billionaire: link.

I don't know what they'll be able to do under FFP, but the article talks about youth development.

The current Chairman will remain in place during a transition period.

Found this on the Arsenal website: https://www.arsenal.com/news/how-premier-league-2-play-offs-will-work Appears the draw is pre-determined for the next rounds. We'll be playing at home against the winner of Fulham and Nottingham Forest in the quarter-final - I'd guess this would also be played at ...

Stranded
blythspartan If we can get him on loan from Luton I’d like to see us sign Joe Taylor on loan next season.

No way he plays L1 in my opinion next season.

I imagine he'll in the Luton first team squad, assuming they get relegated.

Re: The Non - League thread

I managed to get up to Scours Lane after the U21 game today - Woodley United vs London Samurai Rovers. First time I'd been there.

Based on the tally at the turnstile, there were 15 paying customers. Woodley won 3-0, with two goals disallowed for offside.

Femi Azeez among the people watching the game from the boxes. Probably a good sign for his resigning chances.

EDIT: Mark Bowen is definitely here; I think Ruben Selles is too.

EDIT 2: Michael Craig as well. Same comment with Azeez.

Decent half. I think Okine-Peters had the best chance when he was one-on-one. He took it with his left, when it needed a right footed effort. Put it wide as a result.

Feel we’ve been the better side.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Team sheet I’ve seen (courtesy of the stewards) has John Clarke on the bench. The academy twitter cocked it up by saying John Clarke was on bench and then only naming Billie Clark- both on bench so presumably just one trialist. The big screen has four subs with both Clarke and Clark on the bench. I...
